Merry Christmas from Judy Jackson

This technique goes back a long ways -- all the way to April 2004!   I still really like the technique.  All the stamps are Technique Junkie stamps and can be found on this web page:
http://www.stampcamp.com/christmas.html .

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family and loved ones.

JOY

Hello, Jackie K here with a twist on the Word in a Window technique from the October/November 2014 issue. I wanted to make a Christmas card using this technique but I wanted some glitz and glimmer in the window. So...I used acetate in the window and added some Stickles to the window. I then painted the image with Smoosh paints. IRL this card has a bit of sparkle.

I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a prosperous, healthy and creative 2015.
To my fellow design team members, it has be a pleasure and a privilege to work with you this year.
To Pat, thank you for your support, encouragement and generosity throughout the year. It has been an honor to work with you.
I look forward to nurturing these relationships in the coming year!

Let's Face It, You're Beautiful and Brilliant!

{Jane Bosi}  Who doesn't like to hear THOSE words?  It's all true, my friends!  I made this 5" x 7" canvas to celebrate each and every one of us!

My canvas is prepped with a stencil that bears the words "pretty, cute, gorgeous, divine and glamourous"  I like to build meaning into all of my canvas'.  Sometimes, I do it with book pages or a certain added trinket.  If you look closely, you can see a hint of the words.....it's our mantra and I know it's there!  Now, you do too!

This canvas is full of paint, gesso and lots of Technique Junkie Stamp goodness!  To adorn the edges, in white paint, I've used Layered Doilies (#S558).  The focal image is one of the beautiful images from the Palenttini Collection, called Let's Face It 2 (#P007).  The solidly important verse is called Beautiful and Brilliant (#SD435) and reads:

"she told herself that she was beautiful and brilliant and one day she woke up and finally believed it."

It's my wish for all of you.......believe it!

Outside the Box and Wisped Frames

Hello, Beth Norman here with a card that was inspired by Beth Opel who was published in the Ultimate Handbook for Paper Crafters by Paper Crafts magazine.

I thought this sentiment, "Bee Joyful" would be fitting for this time of year.

My stamps are from the Technique Junkies Stamps.  The Big Bee SD333 was heat embossed in gold, surrounded by the Wisped Frames technique. My cute sentiment is from Bee Quotes S402.

I hope you have a happy holiday season.

Tie It All Together by Judy Jackson

This is a wonderful technique!  This is a technique that makes you say -- Aha!  I can really sue this technique right now with no fuss and no mess!  I have said before that I have this drawer of stamped parts, backgrounds, etc.  I was able to go to this drawer and  got out pieces of background stuff and just Tie It All Together.

There so many pieces of older techniques on the backgrounds I couldn't begin to tell you what each technique was.  My "drawer of card parts" has a huge variety of pieces.

All of the stamps are from Technique Junkie Stamps. I used these stamps: #SD171
Butterfly #3,  #S423 Wings Quotes, and SDX038 Artist Words Tile.

Have a great day -- and get inky!

Roses

Hello everyone, Jackie K here again with the TOTW Speckled Words.
I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving.

This technique is so unique and fun. For this particular card I cut the letters out using my Cricut, and the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge. I chose to use the italic feature. Once I had finished with the speckled word I masked it by tracing over it with vellum and then cutting it out. I used the vellum as a mask and stamped the Technique Junkie stamp #S483 Roses over  the card front.
I was quite pleased with the results. I hope you like it and it gives you inspiration to try this technique again.
Until next time, keep on stamping!

One More Christmas Card by Judy Jackson

I have seen a lot of small Christmas trees on cards this year.  I kept thinking about that and wondered what I could design using a punch and a background stamp from Technique Junkie stamps.  I even pictured what stamp I would use  - one with swirls.

I used a textured piece of card stock for the base card.  The I added a layer of navy card stock.  I tore some shimmery white paper to make the hills. I added a just a bit of liquid glue on the edges  and dipped the edges in glitter.

The background stamp I used is #S538 Japanese Swirl on this web page - http://www.stampcamp.com/bigstamps29.html. I inked up the stamp with white pigment ink and used a shimmery clear embossing powder and heat set it. Then I punched out the trees and tucked them behind the snowy hills in a pleasing arrangement.  I added some peel and stick bling on each tree.

I created the moon and cloud wisps with my finger tip.  I inked up the end of finger to get the ink where I wanted it.

Merry Christmas is from the stamp set #SS1b Simple Sentiments on this web page - http://www.stampcamp.com/simplesentiments.html.

Christmas cards do not need to be complex to create but making them pretty sure counts!

So here is a lovely Christmas card where the focal images do not come from would traditionally be called a "Christmas" stamp!

Don't forget Pat is offering a sale on ALL of the Technique Junkie Stamps through December 10. Use this code XMAS15 as there is a 15% discount.  Have a great day!

Stamp away!

Peace & Joy

{jane bosi}

Thanks for stopping by the Technique Junkies Designer Blog!!  If you can't beat them, join them?!!  I can't stop using my Technique Junkie stamps to create all kinds of beautiful Christmas cards!  I thought I'd just jump on the train with Pat--I've been loving her 30 Days feature!!!  Haven't you?

For my card today, I took my lead from the Sensational Stencil CD, using the Grunge Stencil technique.  I love them all, but this CD is my current favorite--40 stencil techniques!!  Goodness, so much more bang for my stencil buck!! And, I've spent a few bucks on stencils!  This particular one, I found over at I Brake For Stamps!

There are only a few more days to use the 30 Days coupon code over in the Technique Junkie stamps store!  The code is XMAS15 and you can visit the store:  HERE

My sentiment comes from Simple Sentiments (#SS3c).  I just adore this set!  It is so versatile and unique.  If you haven't looked around, it is pretty rare to find so many sentiments in that orientation!  And, it's not the only sentiment set like it from Technique Junkie Stamps!  Go check it out!

Patchwork Distress

Hello, Beth Norman here, with today's card using the Patchwork Distress technique which was the on-line bonus technique from the June 2014 issue.

Anyone who follows my work knows that I love to use bright colours, so this one truly fits the bill.

My background stamp is #S235 from the Technique Junkies Stamps.  I'd like to purchase a second stamp and cut out each individual snowflake.  There are so many uses for that too, such as decorating your Christmas envelopes.

To embellish my card I used a Stampin' Up! snowflake die which coordinates with my stamp quite well.

Don't forget that Pat has a sale going on right now.  By using the code XMAS15 you will receive 15% off your entire order.

For more inspiration keep watching our Yahoo group and come back to this Design Team blog.

Vintage Father Christmas by Judy Jackson - Day 23

This is Judy Jackson and I am delighted to be the Guest Designer today for The Technique Junkie Stamps 30 Days of Christmas!  Haven't the cards that Pat Huntoon and the other members of the Design Team been fabulous?  Have you been following her blog?  Start here for all the days so far - http://patstamps.blogspot.com/2014/11/introducingthe-30-days-of-christmas.html .

I used this wonderful old world Santa image called Father Christmas #SD311. You can find this stamp on this page of Pat's Technique Junkie Stamps website http://www.stampcamp.com/christmas.html .

I stamped the image three times but only watercolored one image with Twinkling H2Os. I added some off white flower soft to his beard.  I sponged around the edges of the two images with a soft brown ink, and sponged again with a dark red ink.  I used a Christmas colors background paper on the red card stock base card.

Then I used a white layer that I sprayed with red irRESISTible Texture Spray.  They are similar to Goosebumps but in colors. They are made by Tsukineko. Pat carries them in her booth at stamps shows.  I sponged the edges of that layer with soft brown ink, and then the dark red ink. The red texture spray resisted the sponged colors and remained bright and beautiful!

I layered two sponged Santa images  in two corners.  Then I added a layering piece behind the colored Santa image.  I popped up this layered  Santa with mounting tape. I added the two embellishments in opposite corners.

This is not a difficult card but I think it really pops.

How are you doing on your cards?    I hope your Thanksgiving celebration was filled with love and family!

Remember Pat Huntoon has a special going on right now -- a 15% discount on the entire Technique Junkies stamp site until December 10th! Use code Xmas15.  There are many, many great stamps!  Have a wonderful time shopping!

Have an inky day!

Same Stamp - Different Techniques

Good day from Judy Jackson.  Yesterday was Thanksgiving and we have all been thinking about all of the things we are thankful for.  I am very thankful for many things: my family - kids, hubby, siblings, and extended family as well,  for God, for my country, for my home, and for all those material things we often take for granted.  And I am thankful for NEW stamps! This is stamp is from the new Palenttini line from Technique Junkie stamps. http://www.stampcamp.com/catalog.html

These two cards use the same stamp but they are colored differently.  The top card I just burnished the color of different inks with a small sponge applicator, and the bottom card I colored with my Copic markers.  I added Diamond Glaze to some areas on the bottom card.  Glimmer spray was added to each card.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  What are you thankful for?

Acetate Resist

Hello again, Jackie K here with an example of the Acetate Resist technique.
This technique is from the Oct/Nov issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter.
I had so much fun making this card! You will Too!

This technique calls for a flourish image, but being me...I don't like being restricted in that way as long as I can find a stamp that highlights the B/G technique. I think I accomplished that, and you can too. Just chose a stamp that is an outline stamp and one that can be stamped many times in part or whole.
I used all TJ stamps
listed below:
Cherry Blossoms #SD294
Simple Sentiments Set2 Style a #SS2a

If you enjoy the color combo I used  Adirondak alcohol inks as listed below:
Wild Plum
Stream
Rust

TFL and I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving with your friends and family!
 See you back here soon

I love using blues for my Christmas Cards.

The stamps are Technique Junkies.
The Queen's Anne Lace stamp is one of my favorites
and can be used for so many different occasions.
I stamped it in white so it looked snowy.

I hope you can join us this week.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Holly Brown: Snowy Banner Trees

Hi folks!  It's Holly posting today.  Have you seen all the fabulous cards that Pat Huntoon has been posting for her 30 Days of Christmas?  Check them out by visiting her blog here - http://patstamps.blogspot.com/.  I'm a guest blogger today and I've got a fun card to share with you.

I used one of the stamps from the Pennant Set 3 (Technique Junkies Stamps) and turned it around so it is a tree shape instead of a pennant.  How cool is that?  It's fun to find a different way to use you stamps.  There are several pennant sets from Technique Junkies Stamps, and you can see them all here.  Just think of all the different kinds of trees you could make from these pennant stamps!  :-)

Don't forget - Pat is offering a 15% discount on the entire Technique Junkies stamp site until December 10th! Use code Xmas15.  Have fun shopping!

Christmas Madonna by Judy Jackson - Day 9

Good day to you.  Hasn’t it been wonderful to see all the different cards Pat has been creating for our Christmas card inspiration! Just in case you haven't see her blog, go here to begin the series:  http://patstamps.blogspot.com/2014/11/introducingthe-30-days-of-christmas.html

This is Judy Jackson and I have the privilege of being a Guest Designer today on Pat’s blog for the 30 Days of Christmas series. Today is Day 9. My first question to you, “Have you checked out the Christmas stamps in the Technique Junkie Stamps online catalog?”  Here is the direct link - http://www.stampcamp.com/christmas.html.  Pat is offering a 15% discount on the entire Technique Junkies stamp site until December 10th!  Use code Xmas15.
I have two cards for you today. They both use the same stamp –  #S313Madonna- and it is just a beautiful stamp. http://www.stampcamp.com/bigstamps17.html

This card was easy to color and I like the soft way it turned out. I used a circle sponge on a sponge applicator picked up dye based ink on the sponge and then just burnished color in the different areas.   I used this technique to color in Mary and the baby Jesus. The background cherubs were also burnished but with the same color. I wanted Mary and Baby Jesus to be the visual foreground. By burnishing the background cherubs all the same soft color, they tend to fade into the background.  The verse “joy shared” was stamped and heat embossed on a small piece of vellum and added to the ribbon with my small Xyron adhesive.  The words are from this set - #PS005 Sentimental Sayings and is part of one stamp.  The full stamp says “joy shared is multiplied.”

This card is just colored with my Copic markers. I tied a pale blue ribbon edged in silver to create a bow.

Both cards were sprayed with glimmer spray.
I love stamping and I love using stamps in different ways than other people might use.

I have already created about 115 Christmas cards to mail out this year.  My hubby and I mail about 120-130 cards every year.  I cannot enjoy making all these cards if I have to do the same card over and over, so I make 20-30 of several different cards. When I mail them I never know exactly which card I am mailing to whom, with rare exception.
How many card do you mail each Christmas? Do you make them all?  Have you started on your cards yet?

Don't forget, by using the code XMAS15, there is a 15% discount on  ALL the Technique Junkies stamps until December 10th. Have a great day!

TOTW: Directions

\

Hello everyone, it's Jackie K here again with the TOTW/
It is the Directions technique from the Oct/Nov 2014 newsletter.
My card  uses a bit of a twist as you will see.

Instead of using a word in the center, I used this cute little flower stamp from TJ stamps. Also, since the stamp already had the dots at the ends, I decided to forgo the arrows and use dots at the ends of the lines to make a more cohesive look. You may also notice the B/G, it is the Crinkled Watercolor Technique from the Jun/July 2014 newsletter.
These cards are fun and easy to make and suitable for any occasion.

I hope you enjoyed my example of the Directions technique. I will see you back here  soon
Have a wonderful week!

Monochromatic Silhouettes

Hi folks.  It's Beth Norman here with Monochromatic Silhouettes from the October 2014 issue.  Isn't this a pretty technique?  I used a background stamp and a butterfly stamp from the Technique Junkies Stamps  The butterfly was coloured with Copic markers.  Along the top I used butterfly Washi Tape to coordinate with the coloured butterfly.

Each stamp is red, deeply edged rubber.  Look at the crispness of the stamps.

Have you heard the news?  Pat is thrilled to announce the addition of Palettini stamps by Sally Lynn MacDonald.  I was so excited when I saw this new line of stamps, and can't wait to get my hands on some.

Stay tuned for more work using Pat's new line of stamps.  You'll be truly delighted.

K-Flip Technique by Judy Jackson

Did you read my last post?  Did you see where I was able to get some new Technique Junkie stamps at the Heirloom Rubber Stamp show?  Well I am using more  new stamp today.    All of the stamps on these three cards are from the new Technique Junkie stamps I now have in my collection!

I used Smooch paints to add some highlights to the silhouette image in the top card.  I used Copic markers to color the vintage4 car in the second image.

You will note I am sure that  hmmm the blue card doesn't look flipped but it is. I never realized until I created this card that the exact same colors are both sides of the Blue Frost K-pad are almost exactly the same.  So when you flip it -- hmm there isn't much difference!  But they really are flipped.

The  card with the dots also uses Goose Bumps before I brayered color on the card stock.

Have you looked at the new stamps on the Technique Junkie Stamps website?  If not -- here you go -- http://www.stampcamp.com/catalog.html  .  Did you see the new Palettini Stamps? Browse around and have a good look as there are some beautiful stamps there!

Have an inky day!

Transitional Ombre by Judy Jackson

I LOVE going to rubber stamp conventions because I can walk around and see new stuff -- new tools, new art media, new stamps, new papers, new embellishments; get new ideas, and meet up with old friends. This past weekend Heirloom  held a stamp convention in my own town, York, PA.  And  Technique Junkie Stamps/Newsletter had a booth!  As a member of the TJ design team I knew Pat had new stamp designs, I knew she had BIG plans for Technique Junkie stamps, but I also knew she has had a horrendous summer so I wasn't sure how many NEW stamps she would have.

I created this card using the Transitional Ombre technique from the current newsletter. And I used two new stamps from the Technique Junkie stamps line!  Aren't they wonderful?

I am not sure these are up on the TJ stamps website but here are the details you need in order to order these stamps.  Hot Rod -  PD003 and Mae West Sentiments - PS004.

What will you do to get creative with stamps and paper today?

Transitional Ombre

Hi again, Jackie K here with an example of the Transitional Ombre technique.

I know I have said this before but the uses for this technique are endless. Combine any punch with a suitable stamp and you have a card. Also, consider using your border die cuts or even your Cricut to create the effect you get with your punches.
The stamp is from Sweet&Sassy.

Have a wonderful week!

Sensational Stencils

I absolutely love the new cd with all the
stencil technique ideas!
Have you had a look at all the tutorials:
One of my favourite tutorials is the
Gelatos Wipe technique.

I creatied this card for the  October
breastcancer awareness.
The background is made with a flower stencil
from the Crafter's Workshop.
And I can give you a tip: if you don't have
any gelatos, you can also use your watercolor crayons
for this technique, works fine too!

Creative greetings!

Oldie but Goodie - Out of the Nestie Box

Hi Junkies, Tricia here.  I made this card for my girlfriends birthday using this really cool Saturated Canary digi colored with copics.  I used my distress inks to create a background to match.  I cut her out using the Out of the Nestie Box technique...always a go to technique especially if you are trying to show off as much of the background as possible.

I love this Impression Obsession background stamp which is so versatile I love that I keep going back to it.  Don't you love when you can use your stamps for all different cards?

I hope you have a crafty day and thanks so much for stopping by today.

TOTW - Silver On Gold

Hi Junkies, Tricia here with this week's technique of the week "Silver On Gold".

This technique is so cool!  I love how the background is so shimmery.  (I wish it was light out so I could take a better pic, it's so much cooler IRL).   I think it would be great on Christmas Cards (I need to start these...lol).

The background stamp I used on this one is from Stampin Up! and the sentiment is from Gina K Designs.  I really didn't want to cover up the background too much so I left it as it is.

I hope you will join us this week and play along...can't wait to see what you create!

Have a crafty day!
