I tried the stamp using a variety of techniques ... and they all worked ... so I ended-up creating a gift set of cards.
If you google pictures of Caladiums, you will see all sorts of varieties. This pot contains Five different varieties of the gorgeous plant.
For the first background, I stamped the Caladiums with Green Ink on White Cardstock and then used watercolor paints on the leaves to get the variation in pink hues.
After framing with green cardstock, I added a wrap of sheer ribbon before mounting on the pink cardstock base. The sentiment is from the new Let's Pawty Stamp Set.
Next I tried stamping in Green on Pink Cardstock and adding accents of darker pink.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is another one of the stamps from the new Let's Pawty Set.
Another Green ink on white cardstock with watercolor paint for the leaves ... another thing I love about this stamp is that it works in any orientation. This time I added another wrap of pink sheer ribbon and a sentiment from Technique Junkies Grand Greetings.
And for my final card in the set, I used a lighter green ink on pink cardstock with darker pink highlights.
This card just felt like Spring with a wrap of green ribbon, so I finished with the Technique Junkies Happy Easter Sentiment stamped in darker green ink directly on the background.
I hope I've given you some inspiration for ways to create variations with the stamp background for a great gift card set ... everyone loves having a stash of homemade cards to send.
