Dog Kiss Valentine

Ok, so is it wrong to make a valentine card for your dog? lol  Don't answer that. Because I totally did. After being laid up for a week and my lil Murphy hanging with me the whole time, he deserves a little valentine love. Don't judge. I'm crazy that way.

And I'm totally having fun with some new products being carried by Techique Junkies...I think you're going to love them too. But first, a peak at my project.

Will you just look at all that shiny lushiousness! I used the new Heat Transfer Foil (in Rose Gold) and Transfer Gel Duo to get that foiled goodness. And it couldn't be any easier. Here is how my card came together.

To begin, I stamped the image from Dog Kiss (I snipped off the sentiment, which can always be added back at a later time) with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it in black. I cut a mask of the image and placed it over the stamped area. I used the Lace Doily Stencil from A Creative Life Stencils and sprayed the back with Pixie Spray. I love how the spray gives the stencil a gentle tackiness and holds it in place while you use it. Using a spatula, I placed the Transfer Gel Duo across the stencil. All the excess used was scraped back into the jar for future projects. I removed the stencil and washed it off. I removed the mask and left the gel to dry for about an hour.

Once the gel turned clear and tacky, I placed a section of the foil across the area and ran it through the heat embossing unit (I just use a cheapo unit and it worked just fine). When I removed the foil, I got an added bonus that the area I had heat embossed in black also took the foil. (I now have ideas of other ways I may try to use this foil!)

I trimmed down the piece and matted it with black cardstock. Using foam tape, I attached that piece to my A2 card base.

I then stamped the sentiment from the Simple Sentiments Set, Style 1a. I love how bold these sentiments are. I stamped it with Versamark ink and embossed it with black on a gold piece of cardstock. I then attached that to the top of the card using foam tape.

Here is a closeup...look at that awesome shine!

Now I don't know if my dog will appreciate this card as much as I appreciate my dog, but it's ok. I love him no matter what.

Don't forget that all the new stamps released February 1st are on sale for 15% off until the 8th of the month. Bundle that with my 10% off code, and save 25% on the new stamps. That 10% is good for any of the products carried on the Technique Junkies site. Just enter the code at checkout.

No matter who you make your cards for, give this foil a try. I think you're going to love it as much as I do!

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!
