Summer Flowers

I used the Dragon Skin stencil from A Colorful Life Designs for the background.  It was colored in  with the Ink Blending Brushes. The flower stems were also colored with the Ink Blending Brushes. The sentiment  is Walkin' on Sunshine.   I used dye based markers direct to rubber on Daisy Garden for the envelope.

The rose image was water colored, and the background uses Lace Doily Stencil from A Colorful life Designs.   I used the ink blending brushes  to color through the stencil for the background.

Paper Pieced Gnomies

Good morning!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing these fun gnomes with y'all.  I stamped Hanging with my Gnomies with Tuxedo Black Memento ink right onto a white card base.  That's right - this is a one layer card.  I colored the face, beard, and shoes with Copic markers.  I then stamped the gnomes onto three different patterned papers, cut out the hats, and glued them onto the colored gnomes.  This was a fun and quick card to make for a dear friend who loves gnomes.

TJ Inkspirations: Cloud Edger Stencil Magic

The new Cloud Edger Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs Stencil has been all the rage these past few weeks, and I have been waiting patiently in line to receive my (our) order. The good news -- actually, it is all good news -- is that I have a ton in stock AND I have ordered a ton of new stencils to go along with it.  You can find the Cloud Edger Stencil HERE and a link to ALL the stencils HERE. (They are not organized well yet, but now we have so many, I will be putting them into stencil categories soon). So many fun things to look for!

So today I have a video for you showing how to make clouds in a blue sky, and clouds in a colorful sky. Best of all, the video features some new stamps as a mini preview of what is to come with the September New Release.  I will not spoil them here - you will have to watch the video to see them!

Here are some artwork pieces from the video:

Golden Mad Mod Lace

I am so pleased with how this card turned out! The background uses Dolphin Cove and Vivid Volt Technique Junkies Shimmer Bliss sprays, and the Mad Mod Lace was embossed with gold over the top. The sentiment is from the Better Together set and is also embossed in gold.  It is a shame that I wasn't able to capture the true beauty of this card! It is shimmer and golden in person and just yummy.

Try embossing over Shimmering Bliss Backgrounds - you can't go wrong!

Something Different

Hello, and happy Sunday!   Lynda Joy here, with a card to share, as it's my turn to post today.  I'm going bold today, and a bit messy!  I love to use lots of color, and the messier, the better!  I have so much fun playing with my paints, inks, and products.

I used the stamp Something Different SD708 for my card today.  The stamp includes the verse, so it's just one stamp.

I stamped the image onto a bristol panel.  I used permanent black ink to stamp it.  For the coloring, and the fabulous drips, I used Caran D'Ache watercolor crayons.  For my full technique, please visit my blog,  PaperArtsCafe, for complete directions.

I hope you like my card.  If you are planning to shop at the Technique Junkies store, don't forget to use my code, TJ10Lynda, for your 10% discount!

Thanks for visiting!

Blessings,

Paint the World

Hi there!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog, and I wanted to a pretty card made with some of the wonderful August release products!

This card uses an awesome new background stamp, 'World Compass'. I stamped the sentiment from the new set 'Celebrate Diversity' on the white focal panel, then stamped the image using Versamark Ink, and embossing with white embossing powder onto another white panel. Using the 'Ink Blending Brushes', I blended some Distress Oxide ink onto the image. The layers were adhered together, and mounted onto a Kraft card base.

I love making cards that are so very easy, but look difficult! Technique Junkies background stamps make such an awesome card!

This August release has been amazing! Wait until you see the September release!

Don't forget!!! You can always save 10% on any order by entering TJ10Patti at checkout.

This were so easy to create, and perfect for the turmoil in our world today! Hope you will take a look at this wonderful sentiment set!

Now, be sure to head over to the Technique Junkies store and check out the incredible new stamps this month!

Thanks for stopping by,

Gnomes in Action

If you like action cards, you're in for a treat today. Because I have an adorable double z-fold wiper card featuring Gnomies Forever. Here is the card in it's closed position...

Cute, right? But check it out when it's opened...

Hey! Where'd that fourth guy come from? It's magic! Here it is in action...

While this card is a little more complicated than a regular fold card, it is attainable. I google double z-fold wiper cards and found a ton of great tutorials. I chose not to create my own tutorial since I didn't feel the need to reinvent the wheel. The trickiest part of this card is getting the wiper mechanism positioned and attached. The rest of the card is easy peasy.

I assembled the card using some fun papers. I stamped and fussy cut four of the cute lil gnomies and attached them to the card and wiper mechanism. I decided not to color them because they really stood out in just black and white. The birthday sentiment is Donuts Happy Birthday. The other sentiment is from the Gnomies set. I simply inked only half the sentiment "Gnomies Forever" and hand wrote "from Your" with a black marker.

I am just loving these characters!

By the way, want to save a little $$$? Simply enter my code "TJ10Ro" when you check out your order and you will save 10%! Remember, this code never expires!

Hope you enjoyed this action card today.

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

Paint with Peace!

This card uses Faces of Diversity and Celebrate Diversity.  The verse was heat embossed.  I will  not lie and say coloring these faces was quick, but how I did it made it faster!  I did it assembly line style.   Using my Copic markers I chose a skin color and then chose faces for that skin color.  Then the next skin color, and so on.  Then I did the hair. Last was the clothing.   I found the colored the strip of paper and thought it went with the verse.   We certainly live in a diverse culture.

I also spritzed the top with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper!  Love this stuff!!

Please remember to use TJ10Judy when you check out to get 10% off your total order.

I hope your day is warm and wonderful, and that you get inky!!

Walk in my Garden

Hi Junkies!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing this shimmery watercolored card with you.  I stamped the gorgeous new Floral Card Frame with permanent green ink onto some watercolor paper, and then I stamped the sentiment from In Full Bloom in the center of the frame.

While the ink was drying, I pulled out some shimmery, iridescent watercolor paints and picked a pink, a blue, and a pale green color.  I covered the entire paper with water and then added the paints randomly for a soft, ethereal look.  The shimmer on this card is just gorgeous.  Hopefully you can see a bit of the shimmer in the picture.  Have a wonderful week!

TJ Inkspirations: Using Transfer Gel with Stamps and Foil

Back in the Good Old Days (pre-COVID) we had a make-and-take in our booth using Transfer Gel Duo, Stencils and Foil. While very popular, we were constantly asked whether the Gel could be used with stamps.

There were two reasons why I discouraged people from using the gel on their stamps. First, I was afraid that the gel would ruin people's stamps. Secondly, finding a way to apply the gel was a challenge -- it is important to apply the gel fully, without any (or much) excess pooling around the edges of the images.

I finally figured out how to resolve these two issues.  First, the gel DOES come off the stamps, provided that the stamp is IMMEDIATELY cleaned. Second, I found that using a un-inked stamp pad as the applicator was the ticket to controlling how much gel was placed on the stamp.

So today I have a quick video for you showing how to use Foil and Transfer Gel with your stamps to create pretty backgrounds. I made up a quick kit for you, too, so that you can try this for yourself!  Here is the kit, the artwork, and the video:

We ARE Better Together

It was pure joy for me to release the Celebrate Diversity set with the Faces of Diversity stamp this month. We are all better together are we not?

My rainbow effect was achieved with inks that were masked off in sections and applied with Ink Blending Brushes. I hope you like the effect I was trying to achieve.

Let's just simply be BETTER.

Gnomies!

Hi, TJ Friends! Hope everyone has been enjoying some crafty time! I have been playing a LOT with one of the new releases...Gnomies Forever.  This is such a cute and fun set.  It comes with five absolutely adorable gnomes and six phrases/sentiments. That's 11 stamps in one set! How awesome is that! Here is the card I created...

I created an embossed background and gave it a good swipe using an IZink Dye Ink Pad.  I trimmed down the panel, added a solid matte and attached it to the card base.

I stamped a couple of the gnomes and colored them with Kaisercraft Gel Pens (the glittery guy on the right) and Nuvo Glitter Markers (the shimmery guy on the left).

After trimming them down, I glued one guy flat and the other popped up on some foam adhesive.

I stamped the sentiments and used a die to cut out the decorative piece which was then also mounted with foam adhesive.

Something about this cheery card just makes me smile. Hope it gives you a grin as well!

Did you know you can save 10% on your TJ orders all the time simply by entering the code below at checkout? This code never expires!

Happy shopping!

Love

Hello fellow stampers!  Wow, wasn't this an awesome new release?  You can see all of the newly released stamps here.

For my card, I tore computer paper, layed it over the background, then stamped Circular Vines over top in Old Olive.  Then using blending brushes, I lightly sponged along the edges of the torn paper.  Next, I stamped out two stamps from Five Fab Phrases, Set of 10

Have a great week!
