Trading Coin Fun

Did you see the current Technique Junkie Challenge ... Trading Coins.  It is the perfect opportunity to give this new creative outlet a try.

Remember, if you use my discount code TJ10Stephanie you can get 10% off anything in the store.

I used a 2 1/2" punch to punch thin chip board and my stamped background.  I used glue stick to attach them together.

One of the fun thing about a technique like this is looking at your stamps a whole new way ... thinking about what portion of larger stamps will fit inside the 2 1/2" circle.

This one features Attitude Giraffes with a partial sentiment from Double Weird Sayings (using partial sentiments is another trick for a smaller palette).

For the next one I punched my background from the Books Background
stamped in darker blue ink on light blue cardstock.

Sentiment is from Bookworms - Set of 6.

For the final one, I found a stamp that almost fit completely inside the 2 1/2 circle ... Putting on Lipstick (the stamp sizes are include on the website, which helps too).

I stamped it in Versafine Chiati on a scrap of pink designer paper.  On all of my coins I used hte ink pad to edge the circle.

I hope you'll find a 2 1/2" circle cutter in your stash and come join the fun (seriously ... why wouldn't you play ... there's a chance to $$ to buy more stamps ... and you don't win if you don't play).

I'll mail one of these coins to someone who leaves a comment on this post before next Wednesday morning, so include an e-mail address in your comment, so I know how to reach you..

I used three different Technique Junkies stamps sets to create this card.    I used  Seagrass Lighthouse - http://techniquejunkies.com/seagrass-lighthouse/, Seashell Borders - www.techniquejunkies.com/seashell-borders-set-of-2/,  and Psalms of the Sea - http://techniquejunkies.com/psalms-of-the-sea-set-of-6/.  I used Copic markers to color in the images.  The verse is heat embossed.

Shaker Jellies

Hello All!

We are into the dog days of summer here; makes me want to head to the beach!  The newly released Technique Junkies beach/sea themed stamps will have to do!  They are 10% off with code TJ10LeeAnn (actually, you can get 10% off your entire cart with the code).
Today I am sharing a super fun card using the new Jellyfish Stamp by Rita Barakat.  If you know me, you know I am not huge into cutesy stamps, so when I saw these Jellies without smiley faces, I knew I had to have them!

I stamped the jellies multiple times, using masking for some.  I colored them in partially with a Arteza watercolor brush.  I needed a background for my shaker card, so I used the Marble Swirl background stamp for this, stamping tone on tone.  I think the new Tidepool Background Stamp would work well for this as well.
To create my shaker space, I fussy cut around all of the jellyfish tentacles.  I know, I know, but I LOVE fussy cutting and I find it relaxing.  Besides, it does not have to be perfect, especially with the underwater scene.  The sentiment, Hang in There was then stamped over the jellies, and the card was assembled.  Using my MISTI gave me perfect placement of the sentiment.

I love all of the sparkley goodness in the shaker!
I hope I have inspired you to stamp, or maybe even make a shaker card!
Have a fabulous and crafty week!

Swirly Waves

Hello Technique Junkies, it's Ceal here to share with you today and I am using one of my favorite stamps from the July release, Swirly Waves. This background stamp is so fun. I paired it up with another July release stamp set, Play like a Pirate it is a 5 piece set and I used the anchor from it.

To make my card I started with a grey top folding card base, a white panel and a piece of bristol for the background. I stamped the image with Versamark ink and then embossed it using white embossing powder. Next I used Salty Ocean distress oxide ink and blended it over the entire panel ad wiped it off with a damp wipe to get the ink off of the embossing. To finish the card I stamped the anchor from the Play like a Pirate set on a piece of paper, colored it using Copic markers and then fussy cut it out to add to the card.

Love Letters In The Sand

Hello friends!  Lynda Joy here, playing with some of the Technique Junkies new July release stamps, and one previously released stamp....
I love collecting seashells on the seashore.  Each one is so unique, and has it's own personality.  For my card today, I used these Technique Junkies stamps:
Seashells - Set of 5 - New July release
Seashell Borders - Set of 2 - New July release
French Text - Previous release

I started with natural cardstock.  I stamped the smaller row of seashells, then the French text (partially) under it.  Then I stamped the verse.  I sponged some brown ink along the shell row, then watercolored the 'water' with some Tim Holtz distress ink.  I layered this panel onto a piece of blue cardstock for layering, then onto a natural A2 card.
A single conch shell, from the Seashells set of 5 set, fussy-cut and layered on foam tape, and some Enamel Accents by Ranger finish my card for today.  If you would like to see more of my cards featuring these stamps, check out my post HERE.

I hope you've had a chance to hop along with us this month.  If not, you can still check out all the inspiration at the Blog Hop post HERE.

Don't forget, when you shop at Technique Junkies store, be sure to use my code, TJ10Lynda, and get a 10% discount on your entire purchase!
So glad you stopped by today.  Enjoy the rest of this month's inspiration from the Technique Junkies design team!  Lots of great ideas coming your way.

Blessings,
