Hello Stamping Friends,

Hetty here with a technique from the new Dec2010/Jan2011 Newsletter.

There are so many new techniques that it was a difficult choice to make what to show you.

I want to share the GLOSSY GESSO with you, for this is

a wonderful technique for your  Christmas cards.

And not only for Christmas, also for Hanukkah as you can see here.

I have made this cute little dreidl notebook

with the glossy gesso on the covers and

 a digital stamp by the Pink Cat Studio (they have more cute ones).

On my BLOG you can find the template for this booklet.

The stamp is colored with copic markers.

Triple Play Lighthouse

Hi TJ friends! Kathie McGuire here on my usual first Saturday of the month with a TJ project to share. This card features the technique called "Triple Play" from the 2/2009 newsletter.

I LOVE this technique and have used it for so many projects! Know what I love most of all? It fits into a #10 business envelope. Who doesn't have a zillion of those around?

I hope you enjoy my lighthouse card using Triple Play. I got a little creative and turned the card 90 degrees, making it a vertical rather than a horizontal design.

Here's a little bonus for you: See the knot tied in the cord? I learned how to tie it at Animated Knots. It's a website devoted to knot tying, with great animations on "how-to". So get creative, and add a great knot on your next TJ card!!

TJ backgrounds for digital stamps

Hello Stampers!

Hetty here with some digital stamps. Have you tried them? I am getting into using them and some of the TJ background techniques are just great to use behind the colored digital stamps.

The digital stamps are by FireCrackers Designs by Pamela. The pinguin is one of her new

designs Pamela has made now that she is selling of her rubber stamps (75% on the last ones that are left).

The penguins have been colored with copic markers and cut out. I used some foam tape to stick them to the background. The background is made in the Antiqued Wallpaper technique June/July 2010 with a new embossing folder.

Here on the detail picture, you also see some snow. I used a puffy velvet marker for this.

Here another sample with the same Antique Wallpaper technique. Now if you want to try using digital stamps, you could use a freebie, like this Fall Kitty on FireCrackers blog HERE.

The Kitty is colored with copic markers and cut out. I have cut out three kitties for this picture.

I layered them with foam tape.

On top of the leaves some glossy accent is added to make the leaves shimmer.

The flowers and the leaves have are sizzix dies from Tim Holtz.

I crubled them a little with my hand to give them a more natural look.

The quote I found on the internet and is by Albert Camus:

"Autumn is a second spring when every leave is a flower."

I love embossing folders and all of the things you can do with them. They easily add visual interest to your cards. These two embossing folders are two of the fall embossing folders folders Tim Holtz designed for Sizzix. Isn't the Texture Duet technique a wonderful way to use more than folder? I love it. The stamps are from Mark's Finest Papers. The pumpkins are watercolored. This will be one of my Thanksgiving cards -- I only make of few of those! I make over 120 Christmas cards so fall cards have to be limited!

Name Frame with Pearl Ex/Future Floor Wax

Happy Saturday TJ'ers!! It's Kathie McGuire here with one of my favorite gift projects. They're called Name Frames...I've made dozens of them over the years. (I always get this question, so I'll answer it here: Frame is from WalMart -- they are 3.00. Not in the area where picture frames are--always on an independent stand somewhere near the furniture area or photo area. As a note, they have a mat--and glass--which I removed. The mat is designed to hold two 3 X 5 or 4 X 6 photos. I simply removed it for this project). You can see many more Name Frames HERE.

I made this one for my leaf-loving friend, Judy. I used a technique from 6/03 called Pearl Ex/Future Floor Wax on the small punched leaves (see them in and around the corners of each letter of her name). It gave the perfect amount of color and shine to them!! My friend preferred her project without the glass, so I simply left it off when I put the project together.

As a note, there is no tutorial necessary for this project. The base cardstock is cut to 5 1/2" X 12". From there, create a project much like you'd make a scrapbook page. When complete, place it in the frame. That's how simple and easy -- and very economical -- this gift project is!! And you can place the glass back in its place, or not!
