TJ Inkspirations: 5 Minute Shimmering Background

It's ironic that I am posting this 5 minute background at a point in the year when I don't even feel I have 5 minutes to spare! We ALL get busy with work, kids, obligations and, well, life, so it is nice to have a quick go-to way to make a card on the run when necessary.  Trust me on this -- once you make these backgrounds, you will NOT be able to stop!

Love these products? From now until February 15, buy any combination of Six of the A Colorful Life Designs StencilsNuvo Glimmer Paste and/or Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and receive an additional 10% off! Just use the coupon code Glimmer (it is case sensitive) as the coupon code. You can combine this with other offers, too.

Van Gogh Kitty Cards Set of 3

Greetings Technique Junkies fans, and welcome.  Today's project is actually a set of three cards from the stamp Van Gogh Kitty , from the Technique Junkies February Release.
Don't forget to use the code TJ10Lynda to get 10% off any regularly priced stamp at Techique Junkies!
For the image panel on each card, I inked the Van Gogh Kitty stamp with Ranger Archival ink in library green, coffee, and cobalt.  These inks kept the details of this amazing stamp, giving a clean, clear, crisp image each time.  I trimmed the panel and attached it to a black piece of card stock, then onto the respective background pp and onto an A2 card.

Very simple cards, with my hand-written sentiments on some scraps, and attached with foam tape for dimension.  The 'hello' one is just fussy-cut around my hand-lettering and attached directly to the card front.

A few black enamel dots finish off the cards.

Be sure to check out the Technique Junkies February Blog Hop if you have not already done so.  There is some fabulous inspiration there by my fellow design-team friends.

Thanks for visiting.
Blessings,

Cluck, Cluck, Cluck!

Happy February 7th, everybody! Not that it's any kind of special holiday or anything, but we may as well enjoy life while we are here!

And speaking of enjoyment, I have been enjoying the heck out of the new Keep Chickens  set. Did you know that you can still save 15% on this and the other new releases until tomorrow, February 8th. So you'll want to hurry. If there are other goodies on your radar, you can save 10% on those by entering the code TJ10Ro at checkout. This code is good any time throughout the year...no expiration!

If you haven't checked out this set yet, there are a whopping 13 stamps in it!! Chickens, roosters, chicks, eggs, and sentiments. Something for every occasion! I have had so much fun playing with these adorable stamps. I have used five of them on the card I have to share with you today!

To create this card, I started with a gray card base. To that, I added a piece of vellum that I dry embossed with a cute chicken-wire pattern. I used my cutting machine to cut out Happy Birthday in vinyl and attached that to the vellum, along with a little black jewel.

For the chicken panel, I did a little masking. Using my stamping tool, I stamped the chickens on the right and left and then added a mask to them. I then stamped the middle chicken and the chick. These were all done in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Using a grey ink, I randomly stamped the "cluck cluck" and then trimmed down the piece. I swiped the black ink across the top and bottom border to give it a little definition, and attached the panel with foam tape.

I opted to keep the card monotone so it could be used for a feminine or masculine birthday. The hardest part about making this card was deciding which of the adorable chickens to use! Here is the whole set.....see what I mean?

I absolutely love this set. Have I mentioned that? I love it! lol

Hope you enjoyed the card today and are inspired to have some fun! Remember...

And the new releases are 15% off until TOMORROW (February 8th).

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

CHICKEN TALK

Hello, Junkies!

So glad to have you visiting us today.  Did you see the new February 2018 stamps?  They were released on the first and there was an awesome blog hop to show them off.

All the stamps from this release can be yours for a discount of 15% off but only until February 8th.  So, if you saw some you like, get them with the discount. No need to enter a code, just put them in your cart and the discount is applied.

If you see any other TJ Stamps you like, I can help you purchase them with a 10% discount by using my discount code TJ10Cheri.  Just add that in the discount code area at check out.

I think of all the stamps released this month "Keep Chickens" is my favorite.  Every chicken in this stamp set makes me smile and I have had such a fun time creating with them.

The chickens were colored with Copic Markers.  I stamped them, colored them and then made some masks of them so I could stiple the background with "scattered straw" Distress Ink through a burlap stencil.  I removed the masks, added some speech bubble dies with the sentiments (also from the set) and cut the panel using a slash frame die.  For a final touch, I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to the chickens and the eggs for a little sparkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Don't forget to check out the new stamps, complete with a 15% discount until Feburary 8th, and for all other stamps you might like to purchase, use my discount code for a 10% discount.

Visit us on the Technique Junkies FaceBook page for losts of fun and a good place to post your creations using Technique Junkies Stamps.    Also, check out the new challenge on the Design Blog for a chance to win some fabulous Technique Junkies Stamps.

Friends and A Funky Chicken!

Welcome today.  This is just a fun card that uses two Technique Junkies Stamps.  The first one is from a February release called Keeping Chickens - www.techniquejunkies.com/keep-chickens-set-of-13/and the word  is from Sentimental Sayings -  http://techniquejunkies.com/sentimental-sayings/.

You have until February 8 to get 15% off of your order of all of the stamps in the February release.

The chicken is stamped with red ink and then colored with a red Copic marker.  the distressed red and white dotted piece and the black lace are both background papers.

Layers and linen thread finish the card.

You can get 10% off of any Technique Junkies item (unless it is already discounted) by using the code TJ10Judy.

Have a great day and get inky!

Be Yourself, And A Vogue Kitty Wishlist

Be Yourself, Vogue Kitty

If you are a kitty-loving stamper you'll love what I have to share today with NEW February stamps

Right now you can get any of the February release stamps 15% off, no code needed, plus there is a special bundle of Faith Hope Love Background and Faith Hope Love stamp set for $23.95!
If you order before February 8th you'll get an automatic 15% discount off that bundle price!

AND you can get 10% any regular priced items, just add code TJ10Janelle during checkout!

Vogue Kitty Wishlist

For my card at the top of our post, Be Yourself, Vogue Kitty, I used Color Burst for the background - the basic shake and spritz with water method. Made the trio of kitties by masking with a sticky note and made the bow using a fork to tie the ribbon together.

Vogue Kitty Wishlist uses the current technique challenge, Spattered Ombre in this year's Pantone Color of the Year, Ultraviolet. Stitching around the background layer keeps it pulled together. The stamped sentiment and hat are inked in Memento Grape Jelly. Nuvo Crystal Drops were dotted on the hatband.

All the kitties were colored with Prismacolor markers in Blondwood and Mocha Light.

Remember, you can use code TJ10Janelle any time on regular priced items when you shop at Technique Junkies.

Have a great weekend everyone!
