Hello Technique Junkies Fans,
It's beach season and I'm a romantic...I just had to create a card combining "Mermaid Love" and "The Beach Fixes Everything" . Doesn't this remind you of a happy ending to a romance novel? It did me! To create your own romantic card like this, just grab these stamps (or any other stamps you like) from the TJStore and use my discount code TJ10CHERI at check out for a full 10% off your entire order.
To create the background for this card, I sponged Distress Oxide Ink Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio on a white cardstock base layer. I splatterd some water drops over the panel and blotted it up with a paper towel. Once dry, using my MISTI I stamped the mermaid image in VersaFine Black Ink several times in order to get a crisp image. VersaFine is also waterproof and I knew I wanted to "lift" color from the mermaid's body, the arms, hands and faces of the figures. (The Distress Oxide Inks do lift off with water after they've dried a bit so you must work quickly). To lift the color I used a watercolor brush with a small amount of water and a paper towel. I was careful not to add too much water as I was working on 80# paper and didn't want to over saturate it. To get some color on the areas where I lifted the ink I used my Chemeleon ColorTone Pencils in soft pinks and creams and white on the hat and sailor's scarf. The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with white ep. To finish the card, I used some dew drop water droplet beads and Nuvo clear drops for texture and interest.
I hope you found some inspiration today. Don't forget you can get a full 10% off your shopping order when you use my discount code. Have fun shopping!

Be a Free Spirit
Good Morning!!!
I love lazy Sunday Mornings, how about you!
I wanted to create a couple of quick cards for a friend who is having a bit of a difficult time right now.
I love the theme of this stamp and the sentiments as well
For my first card, I stamped on a pre made background using distress inks and the Contemporary Floral Stamp. I stamped the main image and sentiment from the Free Spirit set
and added a touch of silver to the moon and arrows. You can really see it, but it has a nice sparkle in real life.
For my second card, I simply coloured the image with markers. Using my MISTI makes it so much easier because I could do it a bit at a time and more than once, to ensure the colours came through beautifully!!!!
I hope you enjoyed my simple creations and wish you a peaceful day

Catch A Sailing Ship
Ahoy, Mateys! Janelle here today to confess that I'm a landlubber to the core, but that does not stop me from absolutely loving the newly released sea-worthy stamps! I like to see the waves come in from the ocean and sun-kissed sails on a boat so I'm super excited to share my project today!
Here's a heads up!
July released stamps are 15% off through July 8th!

TJ10Janelle!
My family watched the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie recently and so our card today stirs up scenes about maps and sea-worthy ships. Wouldn't this stamp be great as an invitation for a pirate themed party?
Let's see how I made our card today. All links take you to the product on the Technique Junkies website for easy shopping.

The shoreline
Hello friends! Giovana here today with a sea card! I used stamps from our new July release! Love all the super fun and lovely stamps!
This card is super simple, let me tell you the details:
- Stamp the Sailing Ship Collage on a piece of white cardstock in Versamark Watermark Ink, then apply Distress Inks on the image, hard to see here, sadly I didn't take a picture before adding the top panel.
- Stamp the Swirly Waves Background on a piece of white cardstock in Coastal Cabana Ink, then apply Broken China Distress Ink on panel. Stamp sentiment from Kisses the Shoreline set in Black ink, then die-cut the piece.
- Add panels to card.

Chick Car
I love the fun new Inside Out: Patience Set of 10 Stamps ... snark with a little bit of sass (and they're 15% off through July 8th).
I thought it would be fun to pair a few with the wonderful Chick Car Stamp ... I did some monochromatic designs.

This one is Versafine Clair Blue Bell Ink on light blue cardstock ... and here's the inside:
The next one is Versafine Clair Acorn on light kraft cardstock.
And here's the fun insight on this one (which is so true of me)
I could pretty much send this to anyone on my Mom's side of the family ... we're all accident prone.
Remember, the Inside Out: Patience Set of 10 Stamps are 15% off through July 8th (and if you use my discount code TJ10Stephanie you can get 10% off anything else in the store).

How to Create Stencilled Embossing
Hi there fellow stampers. Did you know that Technique Junkies carries a large line of A Colorful Life Stencils? You can get 10% off of those and any other product if you use my code TJ10Beth. Here I used Island Flowers.
Today I'm going to show you a fun, and quick, way to make a card with heat embossing. I wanted to keep my card flat for mailing so I didn't add any embellishments.
Supplies: Stencil, embossing powder, VersaMark, embossing buddy, heat gun
Rub an embossing buddy around your entire surface of your cardstock.
Optional: Tape down your stencil. I felt confident enough not to tape down my stencil so you won't see tape on my tutorial.
Place cardstock under your stencil and pat VersaMark all over your stencils open areas.
Sprinkle with embossing powder and heat emboss.
Finish as desired.
