Amazing You!

There are hardly any flowers that speak of spring like tulips. So I chose to use this Tulips Background as the focal image.   But I used a different method to stamp and color the tulips.   Let me tell you what I did.   I used a stamp platform and this is important.

I first inked the stamp with Gina K black amalgam ink.   Then I used the Nuvo Glitter Markers to color the tulips and leaves.   These markers are pretty opaque when you color over lines.  But that was OK because when I was finished coloring the image, I then reinked the stamp with Versafine black ink making sure the whole image is inked.  Then I covered it all with clear embossing powder and it really popped!  Then I lightly, very lightly spritzed the background with  Ocean Depth Shimmering Bliss.

I stamped Simply Amazing on pink vellum and heat embossing the verse.

Colorful Batik Butterfly Collage

Hi Junkies!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing this colorful batik butterfly collage card with y'all.  This Butterfly Collage with Text is from the new April release, and it's a gorgeous background stamp.  After I stamped it with black ink, I placed the Primitive Batik stencil over it and used the ink blending brushes to apply green, blue, and pink ink all over.  You can see where some of the colors blended together to make a fun pop of turquoise or a purple hue.

This was a fun and easy card to create.  What colors would you use with this Butterfly Collage with Text stamp and the Primitive Batik stencil??

Lotus Corner Frame and Watercolor on Canvas with Poppies and Roses on Canvas

All my life I've been told that "Simple can be the best and have the most impact!"

Wait...were they talking to ME? HAH!

But okay, okay..."they" were right. 

Once a millennia or so.

This millennia, it was the absolutely gorgeous Lotus Corner on a cheapie 8 x 10 frame from Hobby Lobby. 

I stamped it in white Hero Hues Unicorn Pigment Ink and then embossed with clear powder. I intended to paint it with acrylics, but then realized how pretty it looked-and how it would take away from my March New Release Card Bandanna Background, so I left it as it was. "They" would be proud, don't you think?

For ONCE, I ran up against a card that my iPhone couldn't pick up the actual beauty of. I stamped the Poppies and Roses stamp over and over with black Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black Ink. This is a thick, mixed media ink that needs extra time to dry. I used it because I wanted to make sure the lines showed after I laid down the heavy ink and water I planned on using. Plus, I was stamping on stick back canvas so one impression wasn't going to do it. Using my Stamparatus, I stamped and reinked probably 4 or 5 times. I dried it very well with my heat gun, pressing my finger down at intervals to see if any ink lifted away. 

Then I began laying down heavy layers of Distress ink with an aqua pen, using very little water. I added highlights. But I coated the heck out of each flower with as much ink as I could. When I was done, I misted the canvas and let the ink start to run. You have to be careful here. Too much and it looks muddy. Too little and you have to mist again and it could look terrible. I could've let it run a little more, but I like the way it turned out.

When you see the colors start to run, hit it with the heat gun and don't stop until it's dry. You can force the color to run more if you like or keep them in their space. It's up to you.

Poppies and Roses Mother's Day

Hello friends!

Today I have a very cool card for you ;)

For this card I used the new Poppies and Roses stamp and Stamping Toner Kit.

Details:

Stamp Poppies and Roses image with Stamping Toner.

Let stamped image dry for a bit, then foil it with Raspberry Heat Transfer Foil.

Trim image to 5" x 3.75", adhere panel to white card base with foam tape.

Stamp sentiment from All the moms set on a banner in Red Ink.

Die-cut a frame and a border frame, adhere sentiment on frame and adhere it to card.

Embellish card with pearls.

Foiling detail, so shiny and pretty.
