Happy Birthday

Hello fellow stampers!  Who says you have to use Gnome for Christmas, just for Christmas.  Stretch your imagination and think of other ways you can use your stamps.  Gnome for Christmas is a set that can easily be used for other occasions.  It's like getting two sets of stamps for the price of one.

Back in October, this card was sent to Pat Huntoon for her birthday.  The gnome was coloured with Prismacolor pencil crayons and OMS.

Take a look at your stamps and see how you can stretch them out.  You'll surprise yourself!

Create Joy

Greetings!  Lynda Joy here, with the blog post for today.  My card features one of my favorite collage stamps in the TJ line, and one of my favorite background techniques.

TJ Stamps Links:

How I made my card:
  • I created a background on coated card stock, using a rainbow stamp
pad and an acrylic brayer.  To do this, I ran the acrylic brayer along the stamp pad several times to really coat it with ink, then ran it onto the paper panel several times.
  • I repeated until I achieved the desired effects.  Because the brayer is acrylic, not rubber, it skips and drags in spots along the panel, which creates the unique look of the background.  The paper is coated and very smooth and similar to photo paper, without the shine.  Paper is key to this technique.  I have done it with glossy paper, and the look is similar, but with a high gloss finish.
  • I black embossed the Big Butterfly Collage onto the background panel, then attached it to an A2 card front.
  • On a small scrap of the panel, I black embossed the Create Joy  verse, and added that to the card with foam tape.
When I create backgrounds with a specific technique, I usually like to create several, since I have all the supplies out.  That way, when I need a card, I can just use one of the pre-made backgrounds, and stamp on it.  It makes for an easy, quick card.  And these collage stamps are perfect for this technique.

Good friends

hello Everyone!
It's Ceal, here to share a card using one of my favorite Technique Junkies sets.  There are two things I love to use on a card and they are butterflies and snowflakes.  I used the Snowflakes set of 9. This set has six beautiful snowflakes and 3 sentiments, one of  which i didn't used that says a snowflake is winter's butterfly.

You can save 10% on this set and your entire order by using my code TJ10

Warmest Holiday Wishes

Hi there, and Merry Christmas Eve from all of us at Technique Junkies!

It's my day to share with you here, and I'd like to feature a fun card that I created, using Gnomies Forever , Christmas Tree Sextuplet, and a sentiment from Gnome for Christmas.

This is a box card, and seemed like a perfect fit for these sweet gnomes! Using Copic markers, the images  were colored for Christmas. I found some buffalo check designer paper on Etsy, and printed out what I needed for the box. Someone VERY special received this for Christmas!

Here is a photo of the trees and their background, which was created with some Distress Oxide Inks, Ink Blending Brushes, and the Cloud Edger Stencil. If you don't have this stencil, you really need it! Be sure to watch Pat Huntoon's videos - she even has one that uses the stencil to do camouflage!

Here's a shot showing the card folded flat for mailing. (Due to the overhang of the tree, this will be mailed in a larger than A2 envelope).

Technique Junkies products make such beautiful cards!

This was one of my Christmas cards this year. The combination of the Vintage Mantle stamp with the Inside Out: 12 Cookies was great together! On the inside, I added the snarky sentiment along with the love Mrs. Santa from the Santa Checks set:

I hope my card brought smiles to the faces of the friends and family who received it!

A North Pole Christmas

I created three tags with Fir Forest and the Cloud Edger Stencil.   I added the greeting from Santa Mail to the center tag.  Sponging the edges of the tags gave definition and dimension.

Distressed Poinsettia Greetings

Good morning, Junkies!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing this distressed Christmas card with y'all.  My usual style is clean and simple, and it was fun to go in the other direction this time.  I started by stamping the large poinsettia from the Poinsettias set with Vintage Photo distress ink.  Next, I stamped just a portion of the Vintage Music in the opposite corners with Vintage Photo distress ink.  Then I pulled out my Elegant Writer pen and added some shading to the poinsettias.  The Elegant Writer pen is actually a calligraphy pen, but the ink has some fun color separating properties when it is spritzed with water.  That's exactly what happened - I sprayed some water over the whole piece and let the inks run and pool.  Those areas of blueish green are from the Elegant Writer pen - so fun!

I let the piece dry and then I went back over the poinsettias and colored in the leaves with Rustic Wilderness distress ink and the flower petals with Aged Mahogany and Candy Apple distress inks.  To add some sparkle, I painted the centers of the poinsettias with some liquid gold watercolor paint, and then I flicked the gold paint all over the piece.  After the piece was completely dry, I brushed the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink using an ink blender brush.  The sentiment from the Victorian Greetings set was stamped with Pinecone Versafine Clair ink and affixed with foam tape.

Have a safe and wonderful holiday season!
