Garden Tools

 Hi there!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog.  I have two cards to share today, just in time for the planting season! Things are beginning to pop out of the ground and bloom, here in Southeast Missouri. What fun this stamp was to create with!

For the first card, the background was spritzed with Chestnut Mare Shimmering Bliss, over top of 'Brick Wall', A Colorful Life Stencil'. I adhered the brick panel to a card base, and set it aside to dry. Next, S902 'Garden Tools' was stamped onto white cardstock, colored with Copics, distressed with Ink Blending Brushes and a variety of Distress Oxide Inks, and a circle was cut out of the panel. One of the garden tools, and the hose were also fussy cut from what was left over after the circle was die cut. The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of cardstock, the same as the base color, and was spritzed with Chestnut Mare Shimmering Bliss. The circle, tools, and sentiment were then adhered to the card base. This will be fun to send to a gardener that we know!

Next up is another card made with S902 'Garden Tools'. The image was stamped, colored with Copics, and the background was added with A Colorful Life Designs Stencil 'Grunge Dots'. The panel was then distressed with Distress Oxide Ink and Ink Blending Brushes

The sentiment on the inside is from SS134 'In the Garden'.
Here is the inside of the second card:

Warmest Holiday Wishes

Hi there, and Merry Christmas Eve from all of us at Technique Junkies!

It's my day to share with you here, and I'd like to feature a fun card that I created, using Gnomies Forever , Christmas Tree Sextuplet, and a sentiment from Gnome for Christmas.

This is a box card, and seemed like a perfect fit for these sweet gnomes! Using Copic markers, the images  were colored for Christmas. I found some buffalo check designer paper on Etsy, and printed out what I needed for the box. Someone VERY special received this for Christmas!

Here is a photo of the trees and their background, which was created with some Distress Oxide Inks, Ink Blending Brushes, and the Cloud Edger Stencil. If you don't have this stencil, you really need it! Be sure to watch Pat Huntoon's videos - she even has one that uses the stencil to do camouflage!

Here's a shot showing the card folded flat for mailing. (Due to the overhang of the tree, this will be mailed in a larger than A2 envelope).

Technique Junkies products make such beautiful cards!

So glad you stopped by today!

Dreaming of a White Christmas

   Hi there!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog, and I'd like to share two beautiful cards that I created, using some gorgeous October release stamps!

This first card front was stamped using 'Snow Covered Pines', with a beautiful blue ink. The panel was trimmed, and using the Ink Blending Brushes and a bit of blue ink was blended over the edges of the panel. The sentiment from 'Oh Christmas Tree' was stamped, and the edges of the sentiment panel was also blended prior to adhering to focal panel. The panel was adhered to a white card base. To finish the card, a white glitter pen was used for some of the snowflakes in the sky, and on the tree tops.

Next up, 'Brightly Shining' was stamped with Versmark, and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  The background was also heat embossed using a stencil that is no longer available. The panels were layered, and adhered to a black card base. What a stunning card this made!

This October release is amazing! So glad I could share it with you!

TJ Inkspirations: Howl-O-Ween Stencil Omitting

Remember when we used to create a mask over stamped images when adding color around them? Well today's video shows how to use a stencil, tacked down with Pixie Spray, along with (teeny-tiny blending brushes to get designs in the little areas around an image without masking.

Today we are Stencil Omitting. (Hmmmm. Kind of sounds like a crime, but its not!)

The video today uses Ink Blending Brushes with IZINK Dye InksPixie Spray and a Stencil to create a great backdrop for the wonderful Howl-O-Ween stamp that was released this month.

Here is the finished piece from the video:

TJ Inkspirations: Ink Blended Stenciled Backgrounds

First, I must apologize. You haven't heard from me for a few weeks, and my absence is both professional and personal.  From a professional standpoint, the video editing program I have been using suddenly died on me, without hope of recovery, forcing me to learn a new editing program that is more complicated. The good news is that the videos will (should) be better as I master the program in the next few months!

From a personal standpoint, I have traveled every weekend in August (only once for personal reasons, the rest were trade shows) and the remainder of my time in the office has been overwhelmingly hectic. I promise to make up for it!  I have already filmed tutorials for most of September and I am prepping them all for future publication.

Before I get to the video and artwork, I would like to mention that Sunday is September 1st - meaning that we will have 15 new stamps for you.  Wait until you see these! I have a couple in this next release that are my favorite stamps so far...stay tuned for Sunday. You will receive another email from me reminding you of the release celebration (and the discount) Sunday (9/1) morning.

Today's video shows you how to use the Ink Blending Brushes with IZINK Dye InksPixie Spray and a Stencil to create a multicolored, blended background.
The finished piece I did for the video is below, plus I have included an additional project that uses the technique with one of the new stamps available September 1st.

TJ Inkspirations: Pixie Spray Stencil Revolution!

I have been bursting at the seams with excitement about today's email! I have known for a while that this was all coming together, and I just received a HUGE shipment of Pixie Spray -- now I can share!!

Pixie Spray
What is Pixie Spray? It is a light-tack stencil adhesive that will change the way you create with stencils. I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but trust me, once you use this spray, you will get addicted to having beautiful, crisp stencil projects created with both hands (since one doesn't need to hold down a stencil) and without painter's tape.

Today's video shows you how to use the spray with Shimmering Bliss, AND with Dye Inks.  I JUST brought the 2" x 2" Aladine IZINK Ink Pads into the store --I have been working and creating with them and I felt compelled to share the love with you. These lovely little inks have a beautiful foam pad, and at $2.99 they are priced right, too.

All of the inks are available individually, of course, but if you are a get-it-all kind of person, you might want all 20 of the inks for just $49.99 - 15% off!
