Snowy Winter Evening in Paris

Hi Junkies!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing this Snowy Winter Evening in Paris card with y'all today.  I love this Paris Winter Watercolor stamp, and I wanted to create a moody winter evening.  I watercolored this with some gray and blue paints, and I filled in the lamps and windows with some yellow paint.  After the piece dried completely, I went over it with a white gel pen and created a heavy snowfall all over.

Did you know that there is a special kit at Technique Junkies with this Paris Winter Watercolor stamp?  It's the French Notecard Kit, and you get notecards, envelopes, this Paris Winter Watercolor stamp, and the French Sentiments set for only $18.40.  You will have to hurry because this kit won't last long.

Be sure to use my code, TJ10Holly, to save 10% off your orders at Technique Junkies.  Come on back tomorrow to see the new February release stamps!  It's a fun "popping" release!!  :-)

Two Cards - One Stamp

Now that Christmas is over, it is time to think about Valentine's Day.  I have two cards to share with you today.  The first one is for my daughter and the second one is for my son.  I love creating two cards with one stamp, don't you?

Before I show you my cards, I would like to draw your attention to the fact you can get 10% off everything in your cart simply by using TJ10Beth. Now that's a steal, eh?

Instructions for making Valentine Wishes card

  1. Using watercolour paper or 110lb cardstock, streak Distress Oxides in colours picked raspberry, broken china, evergreen bough and fossilized amber randomly onto a non-stick craft mat.
  2. Spritz with water, enough so all of the ink is spritzed.
  3. Lay your cardstock flat into the ink and use your heat tool to set it.
  4. Lightly tap your dry cardstock onto the beaded ink and heat set again.
  5. Wipe clean and repeat process until you are happy with your background.
  6. Once your background is thoroughly dry, stamp out Valentine Wishes.
  7. Use a variety of stencils and place them around Valentine Wishes.
  8. Rub areas with your embossing buddy and take a stencil and press VersaMark over a portion of the stencil and use gold embossing. Heat set the gold embossing powder.
  9. Use whatever pleases you.  On the bottom I used a die and matted onto a piece of black cardstock.

I take mine with a bit of milk...

I've said it before but it bears repeating - life would not be the same without my dog, books or certainly not my coffee! The Dogs Books and Coffee stamp and the Whimsical Coffee stamp are both from the January 2021 New Stamp Release at Technique Junkies. I take mine with just a bit of milk. No sugar, but frothing the milk is a bonus!

Calorie Refund

 Hi there!

It's my day to post here on the Technique Junkies Design blog, and I'd like to share two fun cards that I created, with some new release products!

My first card uses 'SD1065 Calorie Refund' and 'S890 Whimsical Coffee Background'. I couldn't get a good photo of this, even with my OTT light, but the background is stampd with brown ink, on kraft cardstock, and there are several places that I've colored in with a red marker. Perhaps clicking on it to enlarge it may show the coloring. The sentiment was stamped in black ink, and highlighted in gray Copic marker. The 'calorie items' were colored with Copic Markers and some glossy accents were added for yummy shine. Again, the photo doesn't show how yummy these look. Some days are just like that, right???

Here's another fun card. This focal panel 'SD1070 It Takes a Village', was stamped with a wine colored ink. The 'glass' portions were colored with Copic markers, and covered with glossy accents for a look of real glass. The panel was then distressed with a touch of distress ink. The background is a piece of beautiful patterned paper. I already have a recipient in mind for this one!

Don't forget that the January 'Gotta Have it All' Bundle is $94.80. Normally, this would be $126.30 - what a great deal! Here's what you'll get:

So glad you stopped by today!

Don't forget!!! You can always save 10% on any order by entering TJ10Patti at checkout.

Now, be sure to head over to the Technique Junkies store and check out the incredible new stamps this month!

Pretty Lipstick

Hello, Stamping Peeps! I've been busy busting this blustery weather with some fun me time in my craft room. What better way to get through the winter doldrums! I had so much fun creating the card I have for you today. I used a couple of OBG (oldie but goodie) stamps along with a Colorful Life stencil to put together this card:

No-One Will Notice (SD1003)
Red Lipstick Day (SD687)

I started by creating an A2 card base (a great place to start, right?) and added a metallic blue piece of cardstock. On a piece of white cardstock, using my MISTI, I stamped both the sentiment and the image, then trimmed down the panel. Using some Pixie Spray (where would I be without this stuff!), I placed my stencil over my panel and began inking the areas around the sentiment and image using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I was careful to leave my stamped areas un-stenciled. I added some of the Distress Ink to the edges of the panel, then colored in the image. I went over some of the words in the sentiment, along with a couple elements in the image, using my favorite Kaisercraft Gel Pens. I attached the panel to the front of my card and added a couple baubles for interest.

I love how the card turned out and can't wait to send it to one of my friends!

Hope you found a little inspiration today. Don't forget, you can save 10% off your purchases at Technique Junkies by using my special code below:

Happy stamping!

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

The Java Jive

I don't drink coffee.  Neither does my sister.  Our brother will drink coffee 3-4 times a year.  Our older brother drank coffee every morning, and drank iced tea the rest of the day.  We all drink iced tea.   I think this is strange because both of our parents drank coffee all day long.   Once in a while they would drink water.  But coffee was their beverage of choice for the most part.  I drink hot tea in the morning and about noonish I switch to iced tea with lemon.    But I know a lot of people who LOOOVVEE coffee and they drink it all day long.

To create this card I used Whimsical Coffee Background,  the coffee pot from Coffee QuotesJava Jive, and the Coffee Bean stencil with  Harvest Sunset Shimmering Bliss.   I used Pixie spray to hold the stencil in place.

Please remember you can 10% off of your total order using the code TJ10Judy.

And have you seen all of the new January stamps in one place for Technique Junkies?  And did you know if  you love them all and want to have them all, you can get an automatic  25% discount.  So if you Gotta Have It ALL click this blue hyperlink!

Have a great day, and be sure to take some time and get inky!!

Valentine Heart Wishes

Hi Junkies!  It's Holly posting today, and I've got a fun Valentine's card to share with you.  I used two new stamps from Technique Junkies on this card - Valentine Wishes and Valentine Heart Border.  First, I stamped the Valentine Heart Border all over the background with red ink.  Then I stamped the Valentine Wishes with black ink, cut that out with a circle die, and used a red Copic marker to color in the sentiment.  I cut a larger scallop circle from black cardstock and adhered the Valentine Wishes to the center of the card.  This is such a fun and easy Valentine card!

Snarky Mouth

I almost think this Woodstock Girl stencil from A Colorful Life Designs was made for this sentiment! Don't we all have a little problem holding things in sometimes? I know I do (occasionally). The background was created using a Distress Oxide dip technique and the stencil and My Mouth image were placed right over the dried colorful cardstock.
