Courage

Hello fellow stampers!  Technique Junkies came out with an awesome November release. I think there’s a little bit of this verse in all of us these days, whether it be mentally exhausted or letting COVID restrictions get to us.  We all could use a bit of courage.  This Courage stamp comes with the verse and lion as one stamp.  The background I felt would best go with Courage is called Seagrass Mat.  Seagrass Mat is not a new release but can be purchased at 10% off just by using my code TJ10Beth.

My background that has Courage stamped onto it, is one of my many Color Burst backgrounds.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello Friends - wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving has slipped up on us so quickly, and you know what that means...Christmas is almost here! It's time to get those holiday cards created!

I'm up on the Technique Junkies blog to share a beautiful card, made with a beautiful new sentiment stamp '#SDX174 Retro Merry Christmas' from Technique Junkies. I also used a favorite from the September release, 'SD1016 Beautiful Mandala'.

The Mandala was stamped in red and Catherine Pooler's Deck the Halls green, and once more with Versamark Ink, and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The sentiment was also heat embossed in gold, and matted with some gold cardstock.

I sure do love creating for Christmas, and love this release!

So glad you stopped by today!

A Sweet Baby and Holiday Cheer

One of my daughter's best friends is having a little girl in January. She loves sunflowers, so I decided to play on that theme. I stamped the image from Welcome Sweet Baby, Set of 4 in T.H. fossilized amber using my Misti. Next, I stamped just a portion of Summer Barn to get the sunflower image from it and fussy cut it out. I then colored it in amber, too. Black glitter was placed in the center. Two sentiments from the set were used and distressed a bit. I used an embossing folder for some more interest and both the main image and sentiment were placed on dimensionals.

This image is from the November 2021 release and is called Night Snow. Laying in bed recently, I'd been thinking of how to ink it up with multiple inks. I used berry burst, gorgeous grape and night of navy and then spritzed iridescent Shimmering Bliss over it. The sentiment is new this month, too Warmest Wishes.

I have quite the stack of discarded items in my craft room and I've been trying to utilize them. This embossed image was one such item! Using teal ink spot and antique linen ink pad, I rubbed the embossed image and then for the bg I used not quite navy. The sentiment All is Calm was stamped with antique linen as well.

Create "Anyday" Cards All Year Round!

We MUST remember to create “anyday” cards to keep on hand, and today I am sharing a lovely variation with the “Leaves and Berries” stamp. This stamp is part of the November 2021 New Stamp Release from Technique Junkies.

I suppose it is intended to produce more “holiday-themed” projects, but when I saw this stamp I immediately thought of bright oranges, pinks, yellows and navy blue.

First, I stamped “Leaves and Berries” in VersaMark ink and embossed with a navy blue embossing powder. This creates significant border lines inside all the leaves, which is essential when coloring in with watercolor or ink.

To color in the leaves, I simply used my Nuvo Water Pen and my Distress Oxide Inks. I just “smooshed” the ink onto a slick surface (I use an acrylic block or my craft mat). Then, I treated the ink like watercolor and just colored in the lines. For final touches, I used the remaining smooshed ink to create a “spatter” around the edges.

The “Thinking of You” sentiment is one of the “Four Little Sentiments” set. I stamped it with Archival Ink and die cut with a Spellbinders die that I had in my stash. Honestly, this card design is perfect to make a set of cards and then customize each card with a different sentiment from the set. I really like the nice font and it stamps beautifully!

Before I adhered all the parts together for my card, I used scrap pieces of navy blue and yellow cardstock to create some grounding for my sentiment. Just imagine this card without the navy blue strips of cardstock… the sentiment would be “floating” around on the background. If your cards look like they “need something”, try adding a solid color strip or two (or three) across the entirety of the card and THEN add the sentiment. It should be just what your project needs!

Thank you for looking!

What Courage Is!

Courage is something we have heard a lot about lately.   There are many reasons to summon courage and bring it to bear in our individual circumstances.   But this definition on Courage 1 is certainly true. I used  Stitches, Set of 6 to create the background frame for the focal image.   The lion is colored with Copic markers.  I sponged around the edges.

You can see all of the new TJ November stamps here.  And if you have to have them all now at a great price you can see that deal here.

All items - not on sale - can have another 10% off by using the code TJ10Judy in the coupon box as you check out.

Have a terrific day -- and get inky!!

Distressed Vintage Pine Greetings

Good morning, Junkies!  It's Holly posting today.  When I saw this new Big Cracks background stamp from Technique Junkies, I knew I wanted to make a distressed vintage Christmas card with it.  I stamped the Big Cracks with a soft brown ink onto some white cardstock and then I stamped around the edges with the pine branches from the Season's Greetings set.  I sponged some kraft ink and some brown ink around the edges toward the center of the card for that distressed look.

The sentiment, also from the Season's Greetings set, was stamped with Versamark and covered with gold embossing powder.  I tapped off the excess and melted the powder with my heat tool.  Once the sentiment was cool, I dragged the Versamark ink pad around the edges of the panel and covered them with the same gold embossing powder.  After I melted the powder on the edges, I set it aside to cool for a few minutes.  Then I put this panel into a box and flicked some white paint all over the piece for that snowy look.

Please feel free to use this code, TJ10Holly, to save 10% when you shop at Technique Junkies.  You can pick up all the stamps I used on this card as well as hundreds of other wonderful stamps.  You will also find the gorgeous Shimmering Bliss Sprays and stencils and Catherine Pooler ink pads in the store.  Have fun shopping!

Retro Merry Christmas

Hello Friends!

I'm here to share a fun, pretty card, using three beautiful new stamps from Technique Junkies.

For this card, I used #SS140 Border Stitches#SDX200 Little Holly, and #SDX174 Retro Merry Christmas. I didn't have any 'stitch' stamps, so was excited to get this set.

The stamping on the stitches, sentiment, and holly leaves was done using Catherine Pooler's Twilight Ink. The leaves were stamped 4 times. 3 were left gray, and the 4th was colored with Copic markers, and a few dots of Stickles added for the red berries.

Have I mentioned that I'm a Christmas Junkie? Loving this release!

So glad you stopped by today!

TJ Inkspiration: Retro Holly Repeat Pattern Christmas Card

Fast and Retro - with a Touch of Sparkle!
Pretty Little Holly...
I am a little obsessed with holly. I love the smooth green leaves and the bold berries; sometimes I add a sprig to my wrapped holiday presents for that extra special touch. Today I created a quick little vieo for you on how to use minimal supplies to create this pretty little holly card.

We don't have a kit for you this week, but we tried to make it easy for you to find all of the supplies - plus a few other glitter gel pens -- in this category: https://techniquejunkies.com/retro-holly-tutorial/

Here is the video:

The Old and the New

Happy Thursday to everyone in bogland! I hope this day finds everyone well and ready for the Thanksgiving holiday. It is my favorite holiday because it is all about the gratitude. I am grateful to Technique Junkies and their enormous variety of quality red rubber stamps! Also, I am grateful to be on their design team! Today I am showcasing an older stamp, Vintage Merry Christmas and a new sentiment, Retro Merry Christmas.

Using watercolor paper, I did an ink, spray smash background with grape, pink and turquoise. Next, I stamped the image and colored them in with Zig watercolor brush markers. The pale purple mat was embossed and matted in black...lastly, a white card base.

Starting with white card stock for the trees, I sponged on acrylic inks in vintage red, dark green and yellow....finishing with a touch of white. Next, I decided to die cut my image into T.H. trees. I am fairly new to using die cuts and discovered that I should've put the acrylic sponged paper onto double-sided sticky paper. It is very hard to glue these down without making a very sticky mess! My vintage sentiment was stamped and cut into a banner and put on dimensionals.

Go check out Technique Junkies for all things wonderful here.

Cheers,

Pam

Square Card featuring the Little Holly stamp and Karin Markers

Hello, Tracy Shultz, the Hopeful Crafter, here today to share two cards. For my cards, I used the Little Holly stamp, as well as the Warmest Wishes Stamp and the Gifts of Christmas Stamp Set.

My first card was created using the Warmest Wishes sentiment stamps.

My second card was created using the Gifts of Christmas Sentiment Stamp.

To create both of my cards I stamped the Little Holly image around a circle mask (top, bottom, left and right) using Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink.  I then colored the holly leaves and berries with Karin Markers. I removed the mask/circle and stamped the sentiment inside the open space. For the Warmest Wishes sentiment I stamped first, then cut out each word individual and placed them inside the circle.  I trimmed the four corners with a corner rounding punch. I had some holly and berries holiday paper in my stash. I rounded the corners and used this paper as a mat layer. For my card base I used a maroon 5.5" x 5.5" card base.

Moonlight in the Forest

Hello stampers! I’m mixing new with old today.  Technique Junkies new stamp is called Forest Buffalo, and the old stamp is Wolf by Moonlight.  I am so in love with these two stamps because they make excellent masculine cards.  My favourite way to use them is with a Color Burst background.  And if luck would have it, Technique Junkies produced Four Little Sentiments, three of which are in the photo above.  Each sentiment fits nicely into the forest floor and looks great with the gold embossing.

Music Speaks

Piano keys are so elegant looking. They pair so beautifully with the Music Speaks stamp, too. I briefly touched the Vintage Music stamp, inked in brown, to the paper before stamping the sentiment in black to give the background additional texture. Snowy Wishes

Good morning, Junkies!  It's Holly posting today.  I love this gorgeous Night Snow stamp from Technique Junkies.  It's so pretty with the snowflakes and the bare tree branches and the white picket fence.  I stamped this with a turquoise/teal ink and let it dry for about 10 minutes before I stamped the sentiment.  Then I stamped the Warmest Wishes with Versamark and covered it with silver embossing powder.  Blue and white and silver are just so classic for winter scenes.

You can use this code, TJ10Holly, to save 10% off your order when you shop at Technique Junkies.  Put this beautiful Night Snow stamp in your cart along with the Warmest Wishes sentiment when you are looking at all the wonderful stamps.  Check out the Shimmering Bliss sprays and the stencils and the Catherine Pooler ink pads while you're shopping.  Have a great week!

Blue Ephemera

Sometimes I have a habit of creating collage stamps with dark or muted colors. The Ephemera Collage stamp used here seems to work perfect with these blues and turquoise inks, though! I love the way the vertical Write Your Own Story stamp works with the collage stamp, too.
