Hello Technique Junkies!
Another fun background stamp was released this month. I'm a big fan of large stamps because you can get a handful of cards finished quickly, but you can also use parts of the stamp for different cards designs.
On the cards shown here I used distress oxide ink pads and randomly rubbed them on card stock.
Here are a few ways you can apply the ink:
- You can apply it directly to the stamp like I did on this card. I used bright green and red. I used a stamping platform so I could reapply the ink and stamp it a second time. I wanted it bold and bright.
- You can rub the ink pad directly onto the card stock and let dry. The colors will be bolder if you don't spritz with water. After it dries use a dark color on the entire stamp (like the card with the daisy on it) so it stands out and has a nice contrast to the background colors.
- You can rub the ink pad onto a large piece of Saran Wrap or plastic surface. Choose two or three colors that complement one another and rub them on the plastic wrap in different spots. Spritz the areas with water then dab your card stock onto the color. Take a peek and see what area needs more color and dab it again. Let dry completely before you stamp on your background.
Now dig into your little odds and ends container and find some flowers, stickers, bows, and add some fun embellishments to finish off your cards.
Do you like the large background stamps? Which ones do you have? Do you share your creations on the Technique Junkies Facebook page? I sure hope you do. We LOVE to see what you create with TJ rubber stamps. And when you share it helps others feel more comfortable to post their creations too.
