Fishing You A Fintastic Father's Day (Say That 10 Times Fast)

Hi everyone.  Does your dad love fishing?  Or, maybe an uncle or close friend that you consider your dad?  Here is a quick and easy Father's Day card idea for you.

  • Make your card size - I made a top-folding A2 card using white cardstock.  Then I went through my stash of papers, picked a masculine paper to use, and adhered a piece to my card front.
  • I stamped Jumping Fish Linograph on a piece of white cardstock, die-cut it with a rectangle die, and adhered it to a piece of blue cardstock.

  • I adhered a piece of black fun foam to the back of the blue cardstock.
  • I typed up the sentiment on my computer, printed it out, and die-cut it using a banner die, and a piece of the same blue cardstock using another banner die.
  • If you want to use this for a birthday card, just change the sentiment to say Fishing you a Fintastic Birthday.
  • I adhered my stamped image piece to the card front.  Then I adhered my printed sentiment to my blue cardstock, cut it to size, and adhered it to the card front.

Super easy and fast card to make.  If you want to add color to your image, you can use a cloud stencil with light blue ink behind the fish.  I did this with the same image on my March 30th post.  Click HERE to check that one out too.

Gone Fishing | Jumping Fish Father's Day Card

Hello everyone and welcome to the last Saturday in March.  This year is just flying by.  Well, tomorrow is Easter and before you know it, it's going to be Father's Day.  Do you have a dad who loves to fish?  This card might be perfect for him.

  • I started with a top-folding A2 card base using a navy bluish cardstock.
  • I die-cut a piece of scrapbook paper with a light wave design on it using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die.
  • Then I embossed it using the Waves 3D Embossing Folder from Memory Box and adhered it to the card front.
  • I stamped Jumping Fish Linograph on a piece of white cardstock and then used a cloud stencil and blue ink to make the sky behind the fish.
  • I adhered this to a piece of the same blue cardstock and then to the card front.
  • Lastly, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock with the same 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, stamped Happy Father's Day, and adhered this to the inside of the card.

All you need to do is write a message.

I hope you have enjoyed this fast Father's Day Card idea and I want to thank you for stopping by the blog today.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.

The One that Got Away

Hello TJ Friends!

Today I'm sharing the new Jumping fish linograph stamp on a square card.
If you haven't tried something like this I hope you'll step outside your comfort zone, just a bit, and give this simple card technique a try.

Supplies needed:
3 square cards (I cut mine from card stock) 10 x5 scored
3 different colors of card stock. I usedd blue, green, yellow
Brown piece for the backing (mat)
Black ink
Optional black enamel dots
Optional foam
Adhesive
Paper cutter/Scissors

1)  Stamp the tree branch silhouette background stamp around the perimeter ( front) of the card base and set aside.

2)  Next - I started with 1/2 sheets of colored card stock and stamped (in black) the jumping fish stamp in the same place on each piece using a stamping platform.

3) Cut all three stamped pieces (at the same time) to 3 3/4 inches square (horizontal and vertical) and cut a brown piece to go behind that is slightly larger. *Be sure you have the image in the center as you are trimming it up.

4) Stack the 3 images on top of each other then cut them at 1.25" then 2.5.  That should leave you with 3 pieces the same size - each 1.25 "

5)  The FUN part...mix up the cut strips so each card will have 1 strip of each color and a piece that fits together.  A mini puzzle.

6) Add foam (optional) to the back of each strip and adhere to the brown piece. Then adhere that to your card base.

7) Optional - add a few black enamel gems.  You're done!

Today is March 6th so that means there are 2 more days to snag this stamp and the rest of the release for 15% off!   Everything else is 10% off when you use discount code TJ10AJ.

Happy Crafting!
