WWDB Challenge - Lotus Encouragement

Hi, stamp friends! We are in the final week of the What We Do Best Challenge (Encouragement) and I have a very feng shui card to share.

I am loving black and white on kraft paper these days, so I created a card with very basic colors, but such a soft image that it just seems to balance out. I used two stamp sets:
FENG SHUI (SD091)
LOTUS CORNER (SD999)

I just loved the "zen" combination of the Feng Shui sentiments with Lotus Corner. These two stamps were made for each other!!! (Not literally, lol. But I love them together!)
I stamped and embossed the lotus in white, then added a soft fill with a white colored pencil. I then added soft pink and green shades to lightly accent the flowers.

The sentiment was stamped and embossed in black. After cutting apart the sections, I added a sparkly black edge using a Nuvo Glitter Marker (Urban Graphite). I attached them with foam tape; four on the front and one on the inside. I also stamped and embossed the lotus on the inside of the card, but did not add any color to it. I did the same to the envelope.
I hope you have all been having fun with these challenges. Each week there has been a $50 gift certificate awarded via random draw to one of the lucky participants. It's not too late to play along! Simply post your card (must have an envelope!) on the Technique Junkies Facebook Page and add the hashtag: #WWDB for your chance to win.  I can't wait to see what you create!

If you like the products I've used today (or any other of the wonderful products at Technique Junkies), you can save a cool 10% by adding this special code at checkout:  TJ10Ro
Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

WWDB Amazing Birds in Oxides

Good morning, Junkies!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing this pastel creation that I made for this week's WWDB (What We Do Best) challenge.  This week we are making encouragement cards for the challenge, and the sentiments in the Modern Encouragements set are perfect for this.

I started by inking up the Bird and Letter Collage stamp with three different colors of Distress Oxide inks.  You have to be a little brave and not worry about getting other colors on your ink pads when you do this.  I just randomly dabbed some pink here, then some blue there and some green (actually Old Paper) there.  Some of the colors did cross over and get onto the ink pads, but I don't mind.  I figure I can always reink them if they get too muddy.  While I had the Bird and Letter Collage stamp out, I inked it up again with the Old Paper Distress Oxide ink and pressed it an angle onto my envelope.

Since the image looked a little aged, I thought it would be nice to add some soft beige sponging around the piece.  I sponged some Antique Linen Oxide on first, and then some Walnut Stain Oxide.  The sentiment from the Modern Encouragements set was stamped with Pinecone Versafine Clair ink and I inked the edges of the paper with the Pinecone ink.  Then I pulled out my distress tool (remember those??) and roughed up the edges for that aged, distressed look.

Come play along in our #WWDB challenge over on the Technique Junkies Facebook page.  Just made an encouragement card using Technique Junkies stamps and decorate an envelope to go with it.  Use the hashtag #WWDB so we can find your card.  You could win $50 from Technique Junkies just for playing along!

Next, our third week of the TJ WWDB challenge was another fun week!  Our theme for week 3 was Thinking of You Cards. We again had great participation from both customers and the Technique Junkies Design Team. The video below displays all the compiled artwork from the week. I hope you are inspired to create some Thinking of You cards of your own.

This week, all customer entrants were "put into a hat" and one name was drawn randomly to win the $50.00 gift certificate to the Technique Junkies store! This week, our winner is...
April Cassidy!
April created great cards this week within the Thinking of you theme. April, watch your email for your gift certificate.

Week Four is upon us, so our theme this week is to make Encouragement cards.  This theme is open to a pretty wide interpretation - I can't wait to see what you make with Technique Junkies Stamps within the theme. Don't forget the envelope!

To get us jump-started, here is the first card of the week, from me:
Shoot for the Moon

Today's card uses the brand new Shoot for the Moon focal image stamp with the previously released Star Stream stamp in the background.

Here is an overview of the challenge again:
Our challenge will run for four weeks, with each of the four weeks featuring a different theme. Each week, you can make one or more cards with envelopes using Technique Junkies stamps within a weekly theme. Simply post them to the Technique Junkies FaceBook group OR email them directly to me.

Each week, one of the challenge cards will be selected RANDOMLY and will win a $50.00 gift certificate to the Technique Junkies online store!

That is $50.00 PER WEEK that we will be giving away with this challenge!

Here are the "rules" and the themes:
1. Create a card using Technique Junkies Stamps or Foils. Please, no other companies' stamps on your creations. Dies, stencils and other embellishments are welcomed, but kindly remember that it is a company-sponsored challenge.
2. You must include a decorated envelope with your card entry.
3. Email your card to phuntoon@optonline.net OR post to the Technique Junkies Facebook Group with the following hashtag: #WWDB.
4. You may post a different card every day. Cards that have been posted to the Technique Junkies FaceBook group prior to the start of the challenge may not be used in this challenge. Each card posted must be made by the poster and only be posted once during the contest.
5. One submitted entry (card) will be selected randomly at the end of the week, and a $50.00 gift certificate winner will be announced on this email and to the FaceBook group on the following Friday.

Here is the final theme:
Week Four 5/8 - 5/14 Encouragement card:
Pretty broad spectrum here - but inspiration, thinking of you, thank you, all encompassed here, too. Again, an envelope is necessary.

I can't wait to see what you make!
I hope you are a little inkspired by today's issue. See you next week!

Sincerely,

Winds of Change

Hello!  Lynda Joy here, to bring you some inspiration with a lovely stamp from the May release.
Stamps:  Build Windmills
                Greetings Set
                Currents Stencil

I hope you are enjoying the new May release stamps.  I think this is a fabulous release.
As you may know, all stamps in the May release are 15% off through May 8th.  And if you use my code, TJ10Lynda, you can take an additional 10% off, for 25% off new release stamps!  And 10% off everything else!

I thought this would be a perfect card to use in Technique Junkie's WWDB (What We Do Best) Challenge.  Full details of the challenge can be found on Pat's post HERE.

This is week three of the challenge.  The theme all this week (May 1-7), is to make a get well card.  The entry must include a decorated envelope, as well.   Be sure to enter following the directions in the above link, so you will qualify for a $50 prize drawing!  Here is my card with matching envelope....

I stamped the Build Windmills image onto white card stock, and colored with colored pencils.  I used a die to cut it into a square, and mounted it to a 1/8 inch larger blue panel.

I created the next panel with the Currents stencil on light blue paper, with blue ink, mounted it to a white panel, then onto a blue card front.  I used white pigment to stamp the images inside the blue card.

And here is the inside:
I hope you are enjoying the new May release stamps.  I think this is a fabulous release.  And I hope you are inspired by my card and envelope to join our #WWDB challenge.

Blessings,

Get Well Bouquet in Blue

This week we are focusing on get well cards for the WWDB (What We Do Best) challenge over on the Technique Junkies Facebook group.  I stamped the beautiful new Milk Bottle Bouquet stamp with blue ink and then brushed the same blue ink all over the edges with an ink blending brush.  The sentiment is from the Floral Framed Sentiments set, and I stamped it with the same blue ink.  For my envelope, I inked up the bouquet with the blue ink, but I stamped it off on scratch paper first before pressing it down on my envelope.

Come join us in the WWDB challenges!  You could win $50 just for playing along!

Groovy Flowers Mask with Grand Greetings
To make my card today, I used Pixie Spray on the Groovy Flowers Mask (A Colorful Life Designs Stencils, available from Technique Junkies) to hold it firmly while blending  Distress Oxide Inks with Blending Brushes. Thank You Bouquet

Hello!  Lynda Joy here, with a card featuring a lovely bouquet stamp from the April release.
Technique Junkies stamps:
Milk Bottle Bouquet
You're In My Prayers

I stamped the bouquet onto white card stock, and lightly stenciled a background with a stencil from my stash.

I white embossed the verse, and added it with foam tape, layered the pieces, and added to a pink A2 card front.

Inside:

I hand wrote the thank you verse.

I am using this card for my day three card for the Technique Junkies WWDB challenge.  The theme this week is Thank you, and I know the perfect mail person (our is a lovely young lady) who deserves a big thank you!

TJ Inkspiration: What We Do Best (and a video)

With the ongoing stay-at-home orders across our nation, it is imperative that all of us do our best whatever our personal situation. For some, it means working from home; others are home schooling, and even more are essential workers going into work outside of the home. As papercrafters, we need to do OUR part and contribute our talents the best we can.

So this week, I am thrilled to announce a new challenge: What We Do Best (WWDB).

Our challenge will run for four weeks starting today, with each of the four weeks featuring a different theme. Each week, you can make one or more cards with envelopes using Technique Junkies stamps within a weekly theme.
