30 Days of Christmas - Day 6

Hello and welcome to day 6 of our 30 days of Christmas, we (the design team) are posting a Christmas project on the blog from October 15th through November 13th so be sue to check back everyday for some inspiration, also if today is your first time here scroll back to the start date October 15th so you don't miss anything.

To create my card, I started with a white top folding card 120lb card base, a black panel cut down a quarter of an inch smaller for a mat. I stamped the Framed Poinsettia using Archival ink on watercolor paper and colored using Daniel Smith watercolors. After I colored the focal panel I adhered it to the black mat and then to the card base. I stamped the Merry Christmas 2 in Versamark ink on a black strip of cardstock and then embossed it in white and popped it up on the card front.

TJ Inkspirations: Day 5 of the 30 Days of Christmas with Gold Edging

We have been doing the 30 Days of Christmas event at Technique Junkies for more than 5 years now, and I think it gets better every year!

Today I have the card for Day 5 of the 30 Days of Christmas, along with an easy idea for creating a vintage, gilded look that doesn't have the same "grunge-factor" as sponging ink.

Gilded Edges

Santa with Gifts For today's "installment" of the 30 Days of Christmas, I used the new  Santa with Gifts stamp. I colored the image with Copic Markers and used the Nuvo Fresh Snowfall Glitter Accents on the "fur" of Santa's suit. I fussy cut the image out to really show it off. Then I went spelunking into my crazy paper stash and found a fun little Christmas paper  to use as the background for my card. As I put the card together, I knew it needed something. I grabbed my Indian Gold Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and dipped a sponge (cut into 8 pieces) into the paste. I simply applied it to the sponge, then added it around the edges of the paper:   What I love most about adding the gold on this way has to be how fast the paste dries, and how elegant it looks. It almost looks like the card is glowing! To finish the card, I added the A Very Merry Christmas sentiment to the inside.  I love this little card! 30 Days of Christmas, Day 4 - Warm Wishes Holly

Hello again.  Lynda Joy here with a card from the October release for Day four of the 30 Days of Christmas.

To create my card, I started with watercolor paper, and stamped the holly from the above set with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink.  I watercolored it with Faber Castell Inktense watercolor pencils.  I chose non-traditional colors this time, just for something different.  And, because I love purple!

I cut the image with stacking stitched dies, sponged on some purple distress ink, and layered it onto an eggplant A2 card with craft foam for dimension.

30 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS - DAY 3

It's going to be a Kraft Paper Christmas for me! 

Merry Christmas (just a wee bit early, lol)! It's Toodle Noodle Ro here with you today for Day 3 of our 30 Days of Christmas event. And being day 3, I thought I'd share 3 cards with you! All with the common theme of Kraft Paper.

And now for the cards!  I like to have the ornaments on my tree as the highlight, so I wrap all my gifts in brown kraft paper, and then use three or four different ribbons to spruce them up. I love the simplicity (not to mention the cost savings!). After all, it's not just about the gifts! So I decided I would create some Christmas cards along those lines...with kraft cardstock and a simple color accent of green.

As you can see, the kraft CS keeps the cards very understated, but really let the sentiment and graphics pop.

The first card is a card of threes...3 stamps, 3 ink colors, 3 embellishments. This sure would be an easy one to mass-produce!

My card uses the fabulous new stamp Wreath Sled, from the October 2018 Release.  Using my MISTI stamp positioner, I stamped the image on a white card stock panel with Memento Espresso Truffle and then colored with Copic Markers.  I left the stamp in place on the MISTI and once colored, I placed it back in the stamp positioner and restamped it with VersaFine Clair ink, Fallen Leaves.  I then sprayed the entire panel with Shimmering Bliss Silver Topper.  Wow!  It's gorgeous!

Day 1 of the 30 Days of Christmas!

Ready to get started? Here is the first card, using the Holiday Doodles and Vintage Merry Christmas stamps:

For the sentiment, I inked the Merry Christmas (words) portion of the Vintage Merry Christmas stamp and carefully removed any excess ink off the the other areas of the image before I stamped it with StazOn Jet Black Ink. To color this card, I used 4 of the Nuvo Glitter Markers; Raspberry, Morning Moss, Gold, and Silver, and then used the Nuvo Glitter Accents in Fresh Snowfall sparingly on several of the flourishes. What I love about this stamp is that you do not need to color EVERY flourish and swirl for the stamp to look great!
