30 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS: DAY 17

Hi there, Junkies!  Welcome and thanks for joining us on Day 17 of our 30 Days of Christmas creations!!!! Are you having as good a time as I am seeing all these incredible cards?

REMINDER:  From October 15 through November 13 here on the Technique Junkies blog we will be showcasing Technique Junkies Christmas stamps and during this time, Pat is offering ALL TECHNIQUE JUNKIES CHRISTMAS STAMPS AT 20% OFF.  You don't have to do anything....just put them in your cart and the price will be adjusted.

BUT WAIT....THERE'S MORE:  For an additional 10% off your Technique Junkies Christmas stamps, use my personal discount code of TJ10CHERI (you'll have to enter that upon check out) you can receive a total of 30% off all TJ Christmas stamps.

The face on this pup makes me smile.  All dog lovers would love to receive this in their Christmas mail.

The card was made using "Nordic Knit" (for the bg) from the October 2017 release, "Christmas Dog" and "Dear Santa", from the September 2017 release

I used my MISTI for all the stamping on this card.  The bg was stamped in Memento Grey Flannel ink.  A window was cut using a MFT peek-a-boo wonky window die, as was the Christmas Dog image after stamping him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring with Copic Markers.  The sentiment was die cut using a deckle rectangle die and mounted with dimensional tape.  I had such a good time creating this card...that face!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my card for day 17.  Join us each day for a new Christmas card inspiration AND TOMORROW IT'S A BLOG HOP FOR THE NOVEMBER RELEASE....OUR LAST ONE FOR 2017.

Don't forget to take advantage of Pat's generous 20% off discount on all TJ (ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT) Christmas stamps and use my personal code for an additional 10% for a total of 30% off.  (NOTE:  My discount works as at 10% off any and all TJ Stamps you'd like to purchase)

Merry Christmas - 30 Days of Christmas Day 16

To create this card I used two Technique Junkies Stamps: Creaking Trees - http://techniquejunkies.com/creaking-trees/  , and Gifts of Christmas - www.techniquejunkies.com/gifts-of-christmas-set-of-5/

I used sticky notes to create a mask above and below leaving about 1 1/4 inch in the middle.  I sponged green ink at the bottom half of this space and blue ink on the top half of this space. I used olive and brown markers to only ink the trees and stamped them repeatedly to fill in the spaces until I was satisfied there were enough trees. I used a thin marker to create snow mounds for the trees.

The verse was stamped with Versafine black ink, and heat embossed with detail black powder.

And remember you can get an addition 10% discount with this code - TJ10Judy.

Happy Monday, and get inky!

Peace on Earth - 30 Days of Christmas - Day 15

From October 15 through November 13 Technique Junkies Stamps is celebrating 30 Days Of Christmas! All Technique Junkies Christmas stamps are 30% during this event!

This is one of my favorite Technique Junkies Christmas stamps - Peace on Earth Dove - http://techniquejunkies.com/peace-on-earth-dove/  .

I chose a rich raspberry color of card stock and inked the entire stamp IN MY MISTI - with Versamark ink.  With large stamps such as this it can be difficult to get an even amount of
Versamark (or any ink!) evenly applied to the card stock.  So by using the MISTI, this difficulty is eliminated.  http://techniquejunkies.com/misti-most-incredible-stamping-tool-invented/  I just inked it again and was able to stamp in the EXACT same spot. Then the heat embossing with detail gold embossing powder was just perfect!  I framed it with gold card stock and the base card is the rich raspberry color. A shimmery gold bow enhances the card.

During the 30 days of Christmas, every stamp in the Christmas category is 20% off. AND every customer can use my discount code – TJ10Judy  for an additional 10% discount!
That means if you use my code you would receive 30% off all Christmas stamps.  So get shopping, stampers!

Have a special inky day!

30 Days of Christmas: Day 12 - Merry Christmas

Hello friends!! Welcome to day 12 of out 30 Days of Christmas celebration! Today, I want to share a gold card I created using this super cool background stamp "Texture Stars". This time I used a different technique and I will share it with you.

  • Use glue pad on your stamp, then press your stamp on a piece of cardstock.
  • After that, apply a piece of foil, in this case I used gold foil, use your finger tips to press the foil, then with the help of your heating tool, heat the foil (not to close) using circle motions, just for few seconds.
  • Let it cool for a bit and then lift the foil from the cardstock and voila!! all the stars will be revealed.
  • Stamp sentiment from "Gifts of Christmas" set  on a piece of Ivory cardstock, add Gold Metallic tape to the sides and adhere it to foil background piece.
  • Adhere panel to an Ivory A2 size card. Finally add a little red snowflake.

And now the great news! EVERY stamp in the Christmas category is discounted 20% during the 30 Days of Christmas! Just add them to your cart and the stamps will be discounted automatically. Plus you can get an extra 10% by adding my discount code TJ10Giovana

Have a fantastic day!!
Hope you like my project.

30 Days of Christmas - Day 11: Vintage Christmas

Hello Junkies!

The Crafty Nurse here with some holiday spirit.  I love to get my Christmas cards done early so I don't have to rush around in December when I need them.  I've used some new and old Technique Junkies stamps to create this vintage style card.

Supplies: MISTI, A Colorful Life's "Square Fade Stencil," Distress Paint in Frayed Burlap, Distress ink in Antique Linen, Gold Foiling, Holographic EP, Versamark, WPlus9 Die, Neenah Cardstock, gold cardstock, flitter-glu, and gold flakes.

Directions:  Stamp Arabesque using Distress paint on cardstock using MISTI, ink with Distress, DRY completely with heat tool, apply versmark through stencil,  apply holographic EP and heat, stamp sentiment using MISTI (a must because of texture), cut card panel using circle die, pop-up center die, stamp snowflake with flitter-glu, foil, buff, and back with gold cardstock.

We'd love to see your cards and projects over at the Facebook Group and in our Design Team challenge where you can win prizes for your entries!

30 Days of Christmas, Day 10

Hello fellow stampers and friends.  Are you following  30 Days of Christmas?  Pat and her Design Team are showing off Christmas cards for 30 days.  Not only are all Christmas stamps 20% off but if you use the code TJ10Beth, you get an extra 10% off, so that is a 30% savings.

Here I used Cocktail Joy.  I placed it in my Misti and coloured individual areas with Tombow markers and huffed on the coloured area and stamped it out.  I coloured and huffed three times in each of the areas I coloured with marker.  The holly leaves were coloured in lightly with a light green Chameleon coloured pencil.

I added Frantage Encrusted Jewels to the sides of my image and as recommended I heated from underneath my image.

Don't forget to come back tomorrow to see more fun Christmas cards and projects.

Day 6 of the 30 Days of Christmas: Glittery Stenciled Gilding Flakes Pinecone

Gilding Flakes are one of the most beautiful mediums to add to  your paper crafting projects due to their shiny goodness.  Combine flakes with glitter, and suddenly you have a gorgeous shimmery end product. That is what we are doing today.

Many people don't care to use either glitter OR gilding flakes because of the  potential mess. I am here to tell you that you don't have to have it be messy! Watch the video below to see how to control the mess without sacrificing the beauty of the project.

Note that I finished my piece as a Christmas card - because at Technique Junkies, October 15 through November 13th are the 30 days of Christmas. Every day during that time period, check in with us on the Technique Junkies Design Team blog for inspirational Christmas cards.  Additionally, all of the Christmas stamps on the Technique Junkies site are 20% off through November 13th! Simply add any stamp from the Christmas Category and the stamps will be automatically discounted at checkout.

Here are the stamps and Stencil I used on the finished card today:

30 Days of Christmas Day 5

Good Morning, it's Chris here today.  Thanks for joining me for Day 5 of the Technique Junkies 30 Days of Christmas cards!  All stamps in the Christmas category at Technique Junkies are 20% off during these 30 days!  Just add them to your cart and the discount is automatic at checkout.

Today I am sharing a watercolor frosty holiday card using Let It Snow.

This is such a sweet image and so much fun to work with.

I chose to use Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

To create this card, I stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink on Artistico 140# cold press watercolor paper.  I then scribbled Zig markers on a craft mat to create a palette from which to paint from.  Using my Silver watercolor brushes to pick up the ink from my craft mat a was able to easily and simply paint the image.

I slowly and carefully tore the edges from my watercolor panel but slowly altenating tearing tiny bits from front to back of the panel.  I added a festive red striped patterned paper to a red top fold A2 card base and then adhered the watercolor panel using lots of 3M foam tape.

Thanks for dropping by today, and come back each day for more Christmas and holiday inspiration!

Happy shopping!

Day 4 of the 30 Days of Christmas

Welcome to Day 4 of our fabulous Christmas spread. I'm sure you will find many trinkets to titillate your tinsel-time!

I've got a simple card for you today featuring Hillside Pines

I simply die cut a circle from a post-it and placed it on the card panel. Using a sponge dauber, I inked the cardstock creating a cloudy night sky. I then used the reverse panel of the circle die cut to ink in the moon. Without reinking the blue dauber, I dabbed around the edge of the moon to give the illusion of clouds passing by. Using a dark green ink, I stamped the trees on then panel and added the Good Night sentiment with Versamark and white embossing powder.

The panel was then matted and attached to a card base. I then added dabs of Nuvo Pearl Drops for stars and snow.

Remember to visit us every day for a new Holiday Project! All Christmas-themed stamps are on special 20% off during this time and, for a whopping bonus, save an additional 10% by using my special code below:

Hope I inspired you just a little. Don't forget to come back tomorrow!!

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

TJ Inkspirations: Studio 71 vs Copic Markers

A few weeks ago my friend Marie emailed me to tell me about the new Studio 71 Alcohol markers.  After looking into them, I realized that they are quite a bit cheaper than other alcohol markers on the market and I was curious if they were comparable to the Copic Markers I already own.

So I bought them. Funny, the buying/acquiring part of this job comes pretty easy to me...

But most importantly, I compared them.  Today I have a video for you that compares the markers, head-to-head. The video is STRICTLY my opinion. I really don't have a horse in the race!

BUT -- I am pretty impressed with the markers, and I have decided to offer the 24-pack of Studio 71 alcohol markers on a PRE-ORDER basis for 20% off list price. The 24-pack of markers usually retails at $48.00, so from now until October 30, I am taking pre-orders for the 24 pack for only $38.40. (yup, that's just $1.60 per marker). Just put them in your shopping cart, and the discounted rate will be applied automatically (until October 30th).  The orders will all mil the first week of November.

That being said:
You do not need these markers IF you have a decent supply of Copic markers.  Really, you don't.

These are terrific for people who have very few markers, or who are just starting a collection
.  This will save people OODLES of moola. If you already have Copics - restrain from buying them and spend your money on stamps to color, instead!

Studio 71 vs Copics
This is the result of the comparison - do you know which is which?

In Everything Give Thanks

Hello friends! Fall is here, pretty leave colors, amazing weather (I am a fall weather person), pies and great bakes! Thanksgiving is just around corner, and what a better occasion to send a special card to your special people using the new Give Thanks stamp.

So today, I have a quick tutorial for you, so let's get started.
  • Start dusting little bits of Color Burst powders onto a piece of watercolor paper, then mist the cardstock until you like the result, set aside to air dry or use you heat gun.
  • After that, stamp image in jet Black Stazon Ink using your MISTI, it will take 2 or 3 pressures to get a goo impression (Remember watercolor cardstock is not as smooth as regualr cardstock)
  • After that, stamp the image in Versamark Watermark ink, then add Clear Embossing powder and heat set. (This give your image a shinier look)
  • Finally, die-cut the stamp piece and adhere it to a Kraft card base, add white and patterned paper panel and a scallop border. Add ribbon and dew drops.

And just in case you want to get any of the wonderful technique Junkies Stamps, you can use this code to get 10% off (excludes Ocotber release)

Hope you like it!
Have a fantastic day!
