It's Your Day !!

Deb here and for my post today, I'm using stamps from the September Release.  A friend of mine has a son who turns 16 on Halloween and I made this card for him... I didn't want it to be too "girly" so I toned down the colors.

  • I stamped Halloween Background on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The stamped panel was trimmed and then matted with a piece of blue-gray cardstock.
  • I colored the stamped image with my COPIC markers.
  • A piece of orange striped patterned paper was adhered to a Kraft card base.
  • The sentiment - It's Your Day - was stamped on white cardstock with Memento Love Letter ink. It is from the Bold Birthday Wishes set of 9 sentiments - also from the September Release.
  • After adhering the Halloween panel to the card front, I placed the sentiment in the lower right corner.
  • Several colored rhinestones were paced on the sentiment and the stamped panel.
I hope you like this card as much as I do  - it was fun creating it .. Thank you for stopping by. Check out the stamps I used on this card along with the October Release .You can save 10% on your purchases with my code - TJ10Deb . It's time to get started on your holiday stamping !!I hope you are enjoying some beautiful Autumn weather wherever you are . I'll be back soon with more creativity !!

Happy Winter Wishes

                     Happy Winter Wishes

Can you believe it’s time to start on holiday and winter cards?  I’m one of those people that get started late. I’m working on fixing that!

This card was made using the Happy Winter Wishes set of 3 and the Zen trees background stamp

I took a look at the color wheel and decided on the split complimentary colors:
1) Blue-green (peacock)
2) Yellow-Green (Lime)
3) Red

The one thing I did different than a regular layered card is before I glued down the background piece with the zen trees - I cut up from the bottom on the left side.  I simply followed the side of the tree and cut to where I needed.  I thought tucking the layered front piece behind one of the zen trees gave this a little something extra.  I hope you’ll give it a try.

Sweet Halloween Wishes

Happy (almost) Halloween Junkies!

One of my favorite things about Halloween it giver us freedom to use colors that we might normally shy away from like florescent orange, green, or yellow.   In truth, we probably don't have a lot of use for those in our everyday crafting.   I'm not going to lie... I was a little exciting to sit down and have a play with this neglected colors.   To enhance the brightness of the end result.  I went over the white background with a light grey to dull it a bit.  I think it helped make the brights look brighter.

Ornaments Aglow

Hello. Jeanette here. I'm so excited to be here, sharing another Christmas card made using a background stamp from the most recent release at Technique Junkies.

The stamp is called Doodle Ornaments - check it out HERE. This truly is one of my favorite stamps in this release.

I used two panels of the image, one in its entirety which I blended yellow ink into the center. The other one I colored three of the ornaments and then fussy cut them. I used foam dots to raise the colored ornaments up off of the other panel.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Hedgehog

Hedgehog and Beauty are not two words that are usually paired, but who couldn't love this spiny fellow?!  I stamped him in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake cardstock and added some white gel pen accents, especially to his quills.  I masked him and added Worn Leaves as a background and superimposed the sentiment from the Contemporary Inspiration set.  Good advice, and GREAT stamps to own!  Get them all at TechniqueJunkies.com and use my code TJ10FAITH for 10% off your order!

A Joyful and Zen Christmas

Happy day! Pam here sharing a monochromatic creation. I love how elegant they look and I need to do more of them! I sued the Zen Tree Background paired with the new First Love and Joy.

One of my very favorite embellishments is organza ribbon that I quickly heat up with heat gun. The sentiment was cut out with a scalloped die cut and mounted on dimensionals.

Find it all here. Please feel free to use my code TJ10Pam.

Coffee Girl & Twisted Encouragements

 Hi Crafty Friends -

Today I am sharing the Twisted Encouragements stamp set which is a set of fun, snarky sentiments. I paired this with the Coffee Girl stamp set.

I was in a groove and decided to make two cards using the same two stamp sets. I paired different pattern paper and they came out super cute.

Which sentiment is your favorite? I love this breathing technique. It works!!

The images were colored with alcohol markers. I used A Colorful Life Grunge Dots Stencil.

Do you cut up your stamps? I don't mind taking the leap and cutting up my stamps. I heat embossed the sentiment and it made the card pop.

Card #2 - I can't get enough of this sentiment. I have been finding myself having to ignore, mute and block!

Isn't she cute! Love how this card turned out as I used colors that are outside my norm. I gave the Coffee Girl texture in her hair. Super fun!

I fussy cut out the image and used 3D foam tape to pop her up.

I hope you were inspired. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting! Use code TJ10Shalana when you check out!

Meowy Catmas

Deb here with a fun holiday card using the new Meowy Catmas stamp from the October Release. Our cat Pixie loves to "supervise" when we decorate the tree, so my card looks just like her !! There are 10 new holiday stamps/stamp sets in this fun release. You can check them all out HERE .

  • I stamped Meowy Catmas on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink .
  • The stamped image was cut with a Big and Little Chain Rectangle Die.
  • I placed colored rhinestones on each of the Christmas lights and colored the ball of twine with an OLO marker.
  • A piece of pink snowflake paper was adhered to a white card base.Memento
  • The stamped panel was adhered to the snowflake paper with foom tabs..

This was a quick and easy card to make and I actually did make a few for my "crazy cat lady" friends!! Have you started on your holiday cards yet ?? Thanks for stopping by .. Stay creative and enjoy the Fall weather !! It's finally sweater weather here and I am thrilled ...

Meowy Catmas

Meowy Catmas

Here’s a sweet holiday card for your cat lovin’ family and friends - why not make a batch of these kitty cards with just 2 stamps!

What you’ll need:

Black ink pad (I used Versa Fine Clair Nocturne)
Abandoned Coral and Citron ink pads (I used distress oxide ink pads. You could substitute red and green)
Blending brushes
Black card stock 4 x 5.25
White card stock 3.75 x 5 inch and smaller piece for the cat image
Card base (you choose color)
Foam (optional)
Glitter pen for light bulbs (optional)
Colored pencils or markers (to color the cat with the holiday lights)
3 Green gems (or any kind of bling or drops you have in your stash)
Glue/adhesive

Steps:

1) Grab your 3.75 x 5 piece of card stock. With blending brushes I applied Abandoned Coral and Citron in random areas. Don’t overthink this. Simply brush color of one ink in let’s say, three areas, then use the other color to color the rest of the card stock. Don’t leave any white areas. Set aside.

2) Next - Stamp the cat image on a small piece of white card stock, color, then with a blending brush lightly brush around the image with Citron.  Mount on a piece of black card stock. Optional: add foam behind this piece and see what you have in your stash to make those light bulbs sparkle. You might have glitter pens or a type of glaze.

3) Grab that first piece of card stock that you put color on and now let’s stamp the Mad Mod Lace background stamp on it.  (Optional: to make the background stamp look bolder you can heat emboss it with clear embossing powder or restamp it a couple of times)>

4) The Fun part…let’s put it all together.
- Adhere the background piece to black card stock that is slightly larger then adhere to your base.  (If you don’t like measuring just cut the black card stock slightly larger than your background piece).
- Add the Meowy Catmas to the front and add your gems.  You’re done!

Now for some more fun…grab yourself a cup of coffee ☕️ or some other favorite beverage 🍷 and have fun browsing these cute, beautiful, and gorgeous Technique Junkies holiday stamps and enjoy a 10% discount (TJ10AJ) if you decide to go shopping.  It’s just so fun to shop online especially when you can get a discount!

Glitter and Glow with ICE

I love to use what I have! For today's card, I pulled out my Aladine IZINK Ice yo cover the Doodle Ornament background. It is such a quick and easy way to add color to a background or collage stamp. If you have them, use them!

The sentiment is called Glitter and Glow. Both are part of the October 2024 stamp release, which may be found here:

Spooky Scenes

 BOO!

Did I scare you?  Yeah... probably not.  I'm more of the too cute to spook than creepy halloween type.   I thought when I started out with this card I was going to make a spooky scene.  It turns out I think the cat just likes to cuddle jack-o-lanterns in the cemetery.  It could happen, right?

As a side note.. the Happy Halloween is supposed to be a paint stroke.  I thought I was going to do it in a festive color like orange or green.  However, It turns out I liked it in black the best.  It thought it looked a little like a tail of a shooting star or comet.  It is Halloween... so anything is possible.

The Cozy Polar Bears Celebrate Hanukkah Too

Hello y'all and Happy Saturday.  We are all in holiday card mode - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and, for some of us - Hanukkah.  Being Jewish, I love to make Hanukkah cards and not many make them.  When I saw Cozy Polar Bears I knew that they would work for Hanukkah if I used the right colors and the right sentiment.

So, if you want to make this card, this is what I did -

  • I made a top-folding A2 card base using blue cardstock.
  • I stamped Cozy Polar Bears on white cardstock, die-cut it using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, and colored in the hats and scarves on the bears using more traditional Hanukkah colors - lots of tones of blue, yellow, orange - anything but a lot of red and green.
  • I adhered a piece of white fun foam to the back and then to the front of my card.
  • I stamped Happy Hanukkah from Happy Hanukkah, Set of 2 on a piece of white cardstock using blue ink.  Then I die-cut it using the 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, which I then adhered to the inside of the card leaving space for a message.
  • Lastly, I used some blue stickles on the pompom on each hat and set it aside to dry.
Easy peasy!

I hope you have enjoyed this card idea.  Use my code - TJ10Michael - at checkout to save 10% on the entire Technique Junkies Website.  Thanks for stopping by the blog today and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.

Under the Sea

When I first looked at this new Bare Branches stamp, I saw the potential for Halloween and Thanksgiving cards, but the more I worked with it, it struck me as resembling seaweed as well.  To augment that theme, I ran it through an shell/seaweed EF and added some shells from the Sand, Seashells and Flip Flops set and some pearls.  I love what different looks are possible with this stamp!!  Get it and all the new releases at TechniqueJunkies.com and use my code, TJ10FAITH for 10% off your order!

Never Stop Flying

Happy World Card Making Day my friends!!

Today I am sharing a card that has a fun interactive element when you open it up. I am showcasing the Never Stop Flying, It's Okay and God Is Within Her stamp sets.

The inside of the card is a squash book. I used the sentiments from the It's Okay and God Is Within her stamp set. I distressed the edges of the shortbread mats and doodled a line around the edges.

Here is a close up of the cover. This image speaks volumes. I colored the wings using alcohol markers.

I added a piece of ribbon around the top of the card and a few gold pearls to finish up the card.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you were inspired. Happy National Card Making Day! Don't forget to use TJ10Shalana at checkout.

But First Joy

                        But First Joy and Love

Today’s card uses a new stamp from the October 2024 stamp release, punches or metal dies.  Do you have some premade snowflakes in your stash, or some snowflake stickers leftover from last year. Let’s use what you’ve got for this one.  I bet you’ve got some ribbon!

Supplies you’ll need:

- But First Joy rubber stamp
- white card base
- 5 1/4 x 4 piece of red card stock
- decorative ribbon
- scrap piece of silver card stock (big enough for the large circle behind the sentiment)
- circle or scallop punch or metal die (on that the But First Joy stamp fits in)
- snowflakes (this can be stickers, die cuts or punched out)
- ribbon - you’ll need enough to put across the front and top to bottom. Tape in the back.
- white enamel dots (or paint dots, or gems. Get creative. Look in your stash)
-tape, glue or runner tape

Let’s put this together:

- If you have a scrap piece of red card stock - stamp your sentiment in the center then punch it out or use your die cutting machine.
- Next punch or die cut a larger circle (I used silver card stock) to put behind the sentiment piece and set aside.
- Grab your ribbon and attach the end to the back of the red card stock with tape. Bring it around the front and tape it on the back again. Repeat that from top to bottom (so it looks like a wrapped package).
- Attach your sentiment with glue, add 7 white enamel dots onto your sentiment, then attach 5 white or silver snowflakes.

You can repeat this easy process with your favorite holiday sentiments and make a big batch of winter cards in a short period of time.  It’s the initial prepping that takes some organizing…but after that you’re off to the races.

The October stamps are 15% off through October 8th and you can find them here

* Tip:  Try stamping the sentiment on a white scallop using red ink. You’ll love that look too.

Happy Crafting!
