Winter Gnome Shaker

Good morning!  It's Holly posting today, and I've got a fun winter shaker card for y'all today.  I used some stamps from Technique Junkies and lots of sequins to create this infinity shaker card.  I started by stamping the the new All About Winter background in blue ink onto some white cardstock.  Then I pulled out the sentiment from the Let's Chill set and stamped it with the same blue ink onto another piece of white cardstock.

I stamped the gnome from the Gnome for Christmas set with a black Copic-friendly ink and let it dry for a few minutes before I colored it.  I colored the gnome in shades of blue to go with the sequins and the blue sentiments.

To make the infinity shaker, I put double sided adhesive on all four sides of the back of the stamped background panel.  I cut some plastic from a discarded package and adhered it to three of the adhesive edges, leaving one edge open.  With that one end opened, I poured in some sequins, and then I taped that edge shut.  I added more adhesive to the back of this shaker panel and adhered it to a white card base.

With the shaker card part done, I trimmed down the "Let's Chill" sentiment and adhered it to the front of the card.  I fussy cut the gnome and adhered him next to the sentiment on the front of the shaker card.  All that's left to do is write something on the inside of the card and mail it off to a dear friend.

Wintery Poinsettia Christmas Card

It’s always nice to put some extra time and effort into a few of your holiday card projects. I like to have special, detailed cards to give to those few people who appreciate cardmaking or who live far away. For me, this project was one of those special, detailed cards - where the card itself will be the Christmas gift.

I started with the Bird and Poinsettia Border Stamp by Technique Junkies. This stamp is so lovely and is really versatile for Christmas, holiday and also general winter cards. I also think this would be the perfect stamp to use for those “winter birthday” cards as well.

I stamped with brown Archival Ink and then used my Nuvo Waterbrush Pens and a combination of Distress Oxide inks and regular Distress Inks to color in the image.

Then, I used my craft knife to carefully cut out all the INSIDE spaces… look carefully in between the branches and the little pinecones. This was all hand-cut out with my craft knife and some time. :)

After I cut out the INSIDE spaces, then I could easily fussy-cut around the outside of the stamped image. I used Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to glue the stamped, fussy-cut image to a piece of patterned paper from the "Frosty Sparking" paper collection by Craft O’Clock.

I stamped the Dotted Merry Christmas stamp with black Archival Ink and used a rectangle stitched die from my stash to cut it out and add to my card.

The paper collection has lots of coordinating fussy-cut elements, so I simply found a bird, a candy-cane, two leaves, one anise seed, and a few flower elements to add on top of the stamped image. I used a combination of hot glue and my Nuvo liquid adhesive (the hot glue adds dimension).

I mounted the whole thing on top of a black card base. This card did take me quite a while, but I enjoy the detail work every now and then. When I showed my husband the finished card, he said, “Wow… you really put some time into that one!”

Hope this inspires you! Thank you for looking!

Wanna Build a Snowman?

 Hi there!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog, and I'd like to share two fun cards that I created, with some new release products!  Don't forget - All of the January 2021 New Release stamps are 15% off through January 8th! We can all use a little bargain, right? No codes needed, just put them in your shopping cart and the discount will be applied at checkout.

My first card uses 2 new releases: 'SS130 Inside Out: I Love Snow Set of 10', and 'SDX177 Small Snowflake Trio, Set of 3', and an older image 'SD966 Snowman'.The image was stamped onto white cardstock, and colored with Copic Markers. The snowflakes were then stamped using some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. To finish this card front, a dot of Glossy Accents was added to each snowflake center, and to the eyes, nose, mouth, buttons and pom pom on hat. The panel was trimmed, and adhered to a blue card base.

The inside of the card cracks me up - I love this fun sentiment set!!!

Here's another fun winter card. This image is: 'SD1040 Snow Somewhere Else', and was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut. I used some Distress Oxide Inks, 'Ink Blending Brushes', a spritz of 'Shimmering Bliss Chestnut Mare', a few drops of water, and a couple of fun die cuts to complete this card.

The January 'Gotta Have it All' Bundle is $94.80. Normally, this would be $126.30 - what a great deal! Here's what you'll get:

Smallest Bell...

Hi there!  Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Technique Junkies!

It's my day to post here on the Technique Junkies Design blog, and I'd like to share a beautiful card that I created, using some gorgeous November release products!

This card was another easy, clean and simple (CAS) card. To create this card, I used the new release Technique Junkies Jingle Bell Stencil, and 'SD1046 Joyful Jingle', from the October release. After cutting the panel to size, I placed the stencil over the panel, and applied Versamark Ink. I quickly sprinkled on some silver embossing powder, and used my heat gun to get this beautiful silver shine. To finish off this panel, I added a strip of Silver Washi Tape.  The sentiment was stamped onto the blue cardstock with Versamark Ink, and was heat embossed in silver, as well. This panel was then adhered to the focal panel.

Technique Junkies products make such beautiful cards!

This November release is amazing! So glad you stopped by today!
