TJ Inkspirations: Life, Beer, and Masked Images

One of the new stamps released in May is a fun image called "Life and Beer." Today's tutorial uses the Beer Mug from the stamp and a favorite from last year called Sudsy Stuff to create a border of masked mugs in one layer on the center of the card. Even better, the whole thing sparkles. I used the Nuvo Glitter Gloss Aqua Pens to add a fine shimmer over the colored stamped mugs.  It is easy -- and fun! Before we get to the video, I just want to remind you that we are having a second release in May -- next week, on Tuesday, May 15 - to celebrate the release of 15 New stamps from the fabulous Rita Barakat. Advice from an owl

Hello friends! Giovana here today with a fun shaker card! For this card I used a brand new set "You are a Hoot" and "Gingham".

First, I stamped the cute owls on white cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored them with alcohol markers and then added little details with Nuvo Markers, then fussy cut them out, after that I added Clear Laquer to the owl glasses.

I stamped the Gingham background on a piece of pink cardstock in red ink using my MISTI for perfect coverage, then stamped it again in Versamark Watermark ink and added clear embossing powder, then trimmed the imaged and die-cut an oval window, adhered a piece of transparency, added foam adhesive behind the panel and around the oval window to create the shaker. 

The sentiment was stamped in red ink, then added gold sequins on the middle of the sentiment, then added the gingham panel on top. Panels were added to a white card base.

Added a little white bow to embellish the card and voila!

Bodacious Butterflies

I don't know about you, but I am just LOVING this springtime weather. The sunshine, the warmth, the birds, the flowers. And the butterflies....

So I thought I would add some springtime butterflies to a card. Along with one of the newly released stamps. 

This striking card was easily created using the Misti and some masks. To use masks, stamp your forefront image, then mask it and stamp around it. Very simple. The stamps used were Audicity (May release) and Butterfly 2. I used colored pencils to color and added a little twinkle with some Wink of Stella.

Some sequins and a few Nuvo Crystal Drops added just the right amount of pizazz.

Stencil Rings & Eat Cake

I thought the new Stencil Rings Stamp would be perfect to try with my new Vicky Boutin Art Crayons.

I used my MISTI and colored the stamp the first time with various shades of blue and stamped it on watercolor paper (if you don't have these crayons, the technique will also work with Gelatos and Markers).  I overlapped the coloring to get a nice blend.

I misted the stamp with water and then stamped.  I did a second misting since there was still a lot of color on the stamp, and stamped a second time.

Love the fun water-colory look.  I paired my background with the super-fun to Inside Out Live Forever (Set of 10) stamp set.  The other background is made by sprinkling Color Burst Powders on watercolor paper and spraying with water (you can get the full Color Burst Collection in the Technique Junkies store & use my coupon for a discount).

I also thought the Inside Out Live Forever Sentiment paired perfectly with the fun Birthday Cat who looks like he's taken this pair of sentiments to heart.

I stamped the second sentiment on the inside of the card together with a strip of the Color Burst painted paper.

For my second card, I used the green crayons with the same Stencil Rings Stamp, again overlapping my coloring for blending.

A few spritzes of water and stamped it using my MISTI.

Even though the Inside Out Live Forever stamps are made to go on the outside & inside of the card, I also think they work well to include both sentiments on the front like I did with this design.

I stamped the tequila glass from Technique Junkies Call the Girls and trimmed it to use as the embellishment on my design.  I used a light green marker to color the lime.

Everyone needs to send a sympathy card or a get well card now and then.  This card could be used for either occasion. 

First I used a stencil from the A Colorful Life stencil collection - http://techniquejunkies.com/a-colorful-life-stencils/   - and used pale green Art Nuvo Embellishment Mousse - http://techniquejunkies.com/products-and-accessories/nuvo-mousse/  .  Then I used  Technique Junkies City Watercolors -  www.techniquejunkies.com/city-watercolors/ - and heat embossed it on vellum. It was adhered with adhesive from my Xyron machine.The green leaves show up through through the vellum and give it a cool look!

I heat embossed the verse - In My Prayers - http://techniquejunkies.com/in-my-prayers/   -  on white card stock and layered it on glitter paper.
