Blue Snowy Pines

One of the easiest-to-use, and the most beautiful stamp, from the October 2020 New stamp release is the Snow Covered Pines stamp. A monochromatic color palette, like the Navy used on my card, makes this an easy way to add beautiful drama. I added glitter along the top edges of the trees to highlight the snowy look. The sentiment used is from the Oh Christmas Tree Set

Winter Wonderland/Christmas Star

Hello, friends.  Lynda Joy here to bring you today's Technique Junkies blog post.  My card features the Shining Stars stencil from the October release.

Technique Junkies Stamps/Stencil:

How I made it:
  • On a white card stock panel, I placed the Shining Star Stencil and added gold ColorBox pigment ink through a large star.  I was careful to tape off the other openings in the stencil so the ink didn't go through those to the panel.  I added gold embossing powder and heated it.
  • I inked a background around the star with blue distress inks, being darker around the edges, to very light where I wanted the focus on the star.
  • With green distress ink, I stamped the Fir Forest , repeating and moving the stamp up and over a bit without reinking to give the appearance of receeding trees behind the row.  I added this panel to a blue A2 card front.
  • I added the verse from the Gifts of Christmas Set of 5 on a scrap, and added it to the card.

That's it.  I hope you like it, and hope you've enjoyed this release.  I am loving the stencils that complement the stamps and enhance our cards.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I have another card using the same Fir Forest trees, and a verse from another new TJ stamp set, Oh Christmas Tree Set of 4

Gnome for Christmas!

  Hi there!

It's my day to post here on the Technique Junkies Design blog, and I'd like to share some fun cards I created with wonderful October Release stamps!

These cards feature two awesome new stamp sets, 'Gnome for Christmas', and 'Christmas Tree Sextuplet'.

This first card front was created using Ink Blending Brushesand some pretty ink colors, blended over the entire panel.  The sentiment was stamped with Versamark Black ink. The Gnomes and Trees were then stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with Copic Markers, and fussy cut. The trees were adhered directly to the card front, while the Gnomes were popped up with dimensional foam.  Aren't they cute?

Next, I made a set of three cards, using one of the sentiments, and one of the Gnomes on each card. I also had SO much fun with the new stencil 'A Colorful Life - Cloud Edger'.

These cards were all so much fun to create! Technique Junkies stamps make such awesome cards!

This October release is amazing! Can't wait to share more!

Oh, Christmas Tree!

It's never too soon to start your Christmas cards. And this month's release will surely inspire you! I've been enjoying making some cards with a few of the new ones, plus an OBG (oldie but goodie). Here is my card with all it's layered glory!

I created the background first by stamping Snow Covered Pines with black ink onto two pieces of white cardstock. I used the MISTI so I could stamp it multiple times onto each piece which gave me a full, rich sky. I trimmed down one of the images and attached it to my black A2 card base. I added a few "twinkly" stars with the Nuvo Glitter Gloss Aqua Pen.

The second image I had stamped was trimmed down even more...I removed the entire sky above the trees! The width and bottom were trimmed to the same size as the base image. Using foam tape, I attached that layer to the base image then added some beautiful shimmer to the trees with the Aqua Pen. It's hard to capture in this photo, but the shine on the trees and stars is really stunning IRL.

I stamped the sentiment from the set Oh Christmas Tree. This set includes four sentiments, one of which I used on the inside of the card as well. Here is what that set includes:

I love the different fonts and variety of sentiments in this set. Once I stamped my chosen sentiment, I trimmed it down and added a black mat to it. That was then attached with more foam tape to create three layers on this card. Here you can see the dimension:

For the inside of the card, I used another sentiment from the Oh Christmas Tree set, plus the Dotted Merry Christmas. I just stamped both of those onto white cardstock, then added a couple of  "stamped off" (stamp once onto scratch paper first, then onto your card base) images using a tree from the Christmas Trees set of 6. This one is the OBG which I find myself using time and again on my Christmas Cards (Love using them to decorate the envelopes!). Here is the completed inside:

I love the simple beauty of this card. While I probably won't do multiples with all the layers, this card would be easily mass-produced using a single layer of the trees.

I hope this gives you a little inspiration to work on your Christmas Cards. If you like these stamps (there's even a special deal on the entire new release for the "Gotta Have It All" folks!!!), you can save an extra 10% off your order by entering my special code below at checkout.

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

Merry Christmas

Good morning! Another beautiful fall morning, one of these mornings we will wake up to snow!!!

I am up on Techniques Junkies Blog to show you a couple more beautiful cards I made using stamps from the new October 2020 release.  My first card: uses the new Dotted Merry Christmas, love the font as well as the dots between the letters I used Santa in the Monlight  which stirs up memories of waiting for Santa as a child.  I went through my stamps and saw Good Night which I thought added to the card.   I always make my sons Christmas cards so this is the one he has chosen for me to make him this year.   I started by sponging a yellow "moon" on my blank card - then using my Misti I place my Santa in the Moonlight so that the reindeer would be in the moon.  I love to use silhouette stamps - no coloring and they stand alone.   I have a friend who has a sizzix die which I really like, of a city sky line so I die cut several of those to have on hand.

For my next card

I used Candy Cane and Merry Christmas .  I embossed he candy cane and sentiment using some red tinsel embossing powder - love the sparkle it added.  I fussy cut the candy cane out and popped it up on a die cut doily as well as a red doily I had in my stash. I ran my white layer with a snow embossing folder through my cuttlebug, left the script just plain white with red tinsel embossing powder .  I had some card stock in my never ending stash that was perfect for this candy cane image.  Hope you have enjoyed.

Don't forget to use the 10% discount (seen below) by entering TJ10Shirley so you can add these to your Christmas collection.

White Christmas

I used Christmas Tree Sextuplet for the focal image. The trees and ornaments were painted with Twinkling H2Os.  I sponged green ink for the grass and added some heat embossed puffy snow.  The the marvelous Cloud Edger stencil helps to create the sky.  Nuvo drops are snowflakes in the sky.    The verse is from the new set O Christmas Tree

But if you are really enamored with all of the release -- then take advantage of the "GOTTA HAVE IT ALL!"  That sale is 25% off all of the October Release.

Have a marvelous day and get inky!
